“Wh…what was that?” Helda asked, still shaking.

Helda tried to scream, but her mouth wasn’t working. She collapsed to the floor, shaking, even after the pain left.

“What’s happening? Is something wrong? I don’t feel anything.”

He blushed deeply, but didn’t move. He held her against him, enjoying her closeness. “We should.”

He began stroking her hair gently.

“And I’ll never leave you.” He pulled her tight against him.

“There’s a lot of reasons. But I hope you won’t.”

“If you stay with me I will,” he said, giddy.

He smiled again, an honest, joyful smile.

“Can I?” He blushed deeply.

He smiled at her. Then, hesitantly, he leaned in.

“Together, I hope.”

“Really.” He brushed her face with his hand.
