  1. Edgar went with her. “Are you sure there’s nothing wrong more than the quest? Or is there something about the quest you aren’t telling me?”
  2. “We should go,” Edgar said. “You need to finish packing, and there’s no point in being around him any longer. @Lunamor
  3. Edgar was silent. He wanted so bad to be able to help Jenny, but he was so terrible with people, he would probably just make it worse. So he said nothing, just sitting and watching and hurting, both physically and emotionally. He’d talk to her after, he had to. Just…not in front of everyone.
  4. He swung his in a quick chop. “Like that?”
  5. Edgar finished eating, feeling very full. He looked over at Jenny, who seemed to have barely touched her food. “You need to eat,” he whispered, still very worried about her. “You need strength to heal.” @Lunamor
  6. Oh, look at that, I broke 5,000 posts. Yay.

  8. She smiled. It didn’t reach her eyes. ”I hope so.” Edgar frowned inwardly. Something was very wrong. He’d talk to her after breakfast.
  9. There it was again. Something wasn’t right again. Edgar wanted to know what it was, what was wrong, how he could help. But he didn’t know any of those things. Instead, he just tried to comfort her. “I bet he is.”
  10. “It’s going to be ok, I think.” I won’t let her get hurt, not like Kylee. “That’s really cool. What’s your dad like, do you know?”
  11. Edgar dug in to his food. He was going to need his strength both for the quest and to heal from his wounds. Even just eating hurt a little bit. He glanced over at Jenny, she seemed nervous. “Is something wrong? Or, more wrong than going on this quest?” He looked down at her dagger. “That’s a beautiful knife.”
  12. Edgar joined her, sitting as far away from Roy as possible. He ignored the fact that Roy was glaring at him, no need to provoke the boy.
  13. Edgar looked to see what had drawn her attention. He grimaced as he saw Roy. He didn’t want to be by him, but they were going on a quest together. They would have to learn to get along somehow. “Should we sit with the other demigods going on the quest?”
  14. “I will, thanks” he said honestly. “Yeah, that’d be good, we both need to regain our strength too. He looked back towards his cabin, he was fully packed. “We can make sure to go quickly.”
  15. He winced as she did so. “I’m really glad you’re ok! I’m…” he didn’t want to worry her, but he also didn’t want to lie. “I’m up and walking, even if it does hurt some.”
  16. Edgar gave a little sigh of relief as she opened the door. He had known she should be ok, but he had still worried. She seemed to be doing alright, though he could still see some burns that weren’t healed yet. He smiled back at her, wondering why she’d frowned for a little. “Good morning, how are you feeling?” he asked, good voice not portraying the pain he felt.
  17. Edgar limped over to the Hades cabin. It was still painful to walk, though nowhere near how bad it had been the day before. His arms and legs were covered in acid burns, and he had two gashes from where Roy had struck earlier. So he hurt, but it was manageable. His Gift steadied him in the form of a walking stick as he went to go check on Jenny. He paused outside of her cabin, not wanting to wake her if she was sleeping. He knocked softly, hoping she would hear it if she was awake. He wanted to make sure she wasn’t too injured. She had seemed so tired the night before, he wanted to check that she was ok. @Lunamor
  18. “Let’s go, now,” Daniel whispered, pulling Rex towards the door.
  19. Edgar was happy. Despite everything that had happened, despite the pain, despite the enemies he’d made, he was happy. He had a friend, and that made things better. He could depend on her, it had been so long since he had someone he could depend on. And she called him kind. It had been a long time since someone had thought that about him, or at least told him they thought it. “Of course, thank you for the same. It’s…nice to have someone to trust. Goodnight.” After she went in to her cabin, he went back to his own. It was filled with his siblings, yet he was still the outsider. He went and lied down, alone. Again. But he wouldn’t always be alone, he had a friend now. Eventually, he drifted off to sleep.
  20. Edgar smiled, it was nice to be able to finally help. He’d just been a drag on people, especially Jenny, all day. He knew this couldn’t make up for any of it, but it was still nice to ease her discomfort, if only a little. “You’re welcome.”
  21. Edgar walked with her, also on the edge of collapse. He gritted his teeth against the pain, knowing it was only temporary. Be could feel the potion within him, healing him much faster than his body would normally. But it still hurt, a lot. Despite that, seeing Jenny look like she was about to fall to the ground, he offered his arm to her. His Gift shifted into a brace for his legs, strengthening him slightly.

  23. “Anywhere but here. I don’t think it matters. We could go back to the Academy?”
