Not sure if that was him, but I upvoted you back to net zero. It could have come across as a tad short, but not worthy of being downvoted, in my opinion. Back to the matter at hand. I'm sorry for the trouble you've been having Pechvarry. Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that, (as I understand it, I don't do coding for the site at all) it is currently impossible for us to implement a way to change up/down votes. Yeah, it kind of sucks, but our hands are tied. Personally, I try to avoid doing any voting at all when I'm browsing the site on mobile for fear of hitting the wrong button, and when I'm attempting to up or downvote someone, even when on my laptop, I'm very careful and deliberate. If worst comes to worst and you inadvertently downvote someone, I suggest simply going on their profile and upvoting two of their posts elsewhere, to counteract your mistake, or post directly after your mistake to explain what happened. When people see something like this is going on, they're typically willing to help out with balancing the votes back out, like I did above. Again, I'm really sorry that there's nothing we can do, but hopefully something I've said will be helpful.

@Shardlet Thanks, it's good to have someone who agrees with me! @Isomere I really really like that idea. It would make sense, because thus far it hasn't seemed that there is anything special about color from the Tears, which there should be if they were some sort of fuel akin to atium and lerasium. @Aethling I understood where our interpretation differs. As I made it clear in both the OP and in a subsequent post, the way I read it is not the only way it can be read, just the way that I see it as being. And you seem to have quite missed the part where I admit that it is possible that Siri is too poorly educated to know about other jungles. For your ease of reading:

Speak for yourself, man. Personally, I'd infinitely prefer a terrible book This Very Instant.

Well, I woke up to this little gem this morning. It seems that Words of Radiance has been pushed back tentatively until March 4th of 2014... I'm a little bummed out by this, but hopefully it'll show in the final draft. :/

Tor.com has finally posted the cover for Words of Radiance! Tor.com has finally posted the cover for Words of Radiance! The second cover for the Stormlight Archive was also drawn by the phenomenally talented Michael Whelan. The front cover depicts Kaladin crouched on the Shattered Plains, facing Szeth standing on a pile of corpses, including some potential corpses in Plate. There's a lot of interesting things to notice about the cover. Mysterious flying creatures between the two of them? What is either an object or a puddle by Kaladin's lower hand? Do you hate it or love it? Hop on over to the forums and join in the discussion on what precisely is going on in this scene, which is confirmed to be an actual moment from the book. Personally, I love the cover, especially the storm and the look of Szeth, who is shown on the back of the cover. Michael Whelan also provided a step by step look at his artistic process while designing the cover, so be sure to check it out.

That's all very interesting. I agree that it's not guaranteed that Siri knows about the environment of all of Nalthis. But, if you'd look, Brandon's said it's irregular and out of place in the world, which is concrete evidence enough for me at least.

That's fair man, you don't have to agree with me. Here's the quote, in case you wanted to see it. I always kind of just believed that Inquisitors couldn't store as much as a regular Feruchemist, or some power would be lost. I might ask Brandon about it, but I'm not terribly excited about the question.

We'll have to agree to disagree then Aethling. Our argument on the extent of Siri's education is going nowhere. The quote by Brandon clearly says "world" not "area" or "region", but interpret it as you will. Your example about the Tears is not at all what I was getting at. I was speaking more about moving a creature or plant to the same biome elsewhere in the world.

That's actually what I thought it was. The way I saw it is that Kaladin is midway into a hard landing and trying to avoid falling on his face.
-
I hadn't thought of Shinovar, that's a good point. I'd like to again direct your attention the quote from Brandon that says that the rain forest is out of place on Nalthis.

Otomo posted this just before you Adimortis, so I'm gonna merge the two topic really quick. Thanks!

Anyone notice what I presume to be a gemheart in Kaladin's hands?
-
There's actually been hints that there are varying strengths of Feruchemists. It took longer for Inquisitors to store health than most Feruchemists because they were weaker, due to Hemalurgic decay.

She's also a princess of a kingdom, no matter how small. She's obviously received some training, if only because she's technically second in line for the throne, since Vivenna was to be married off and Fafen was a monk. She clearly knows what a jungle is, as she's living in one when she talks about it. She speaks with some confidence on the known world. Anyway, Brandon's said that this jungle is out of place. I should have had this in the OP, my apologies. There are plenty of animals unique to a place. But, the way I read it, that's different from only being able to live in one place. Those unique plants could probably be moved and flourish in a different place. EDIT: Ninja'd on a few of my points by Shardlet. Thanks for the complements!

That's actually what I was thinking about when I typed library...

There's always been one detail of Nalthis that always struck me as odd. The fact that there is only one jungle in the entirety of Nalthis. It always seemed kind of strange to me. On Earth, jungles abound, and not just near the equator all the time. So why just one on Nalthis? Bearing in mind, this could be a simple coincidence. But this fact hinted at something else to me. One interpretation of this is that it's not just the climate they live in, but the soil itself that the Tears require. (Although, you can also read it other ways.) This again made me wonder at why a jungle would flourish in just one place in the world. But, there is another instance of a place that flourishes, unlike the lands around it. Harmony changed the land around Elendel, creating a basin where life flourishes, unlike the rest of the world. Is it possible that Endowment could have done the same with the jungle? Perhaps Nalthis is a bit of a colder world, further out in the habitable zone, too far for jungles to form. But thanks to Endowment's blessing upon the land around Hallandren, the jungle and all different types of life can flourish there. My biggest concern with this theory is Brandon's mention that he didn't want to make a map of Nalthis, for fear of getting the geography of a jungle wrong, which could point to the fact that the jungle is natural. But I still think there might be something to this. Thoughts?

Darn, I totally meant that xD

Unfortunately, the release is most likely going to be at the BYU library in Provo Utah

Spren are definitely inside fabrials, that's how they work. Navani's notebook was translated and says so.

I really really want to be there. We'll have to look into the logistics of it all, considering how cheap and/or poor I am xD

Meh, if he keeps the same structure as he did in TWoK, we haven't even got half of the chapters seen. Navani didn't come in until late in TWoK. Jasnah's got a POV and Eshonai is going to be one of the flashback ten, so those are two pretty major developments. What interests me more is the fact that there are four stories in the first interlude, a break from TWoK.

This is basically the only fansite I'm a part of as well. Welcome, and I hope you have a good time here!

My spidey senses tell me that Mi'ch already knew how to get ahold of White Sand if she wanted to
-
Why were you planning on skipping this story? Also, I could see the White Fox being greatly exaggerated, but I am hesitant to label Silence as the White Fox. If so, she's dispacted at least dozens of men, and shouldn't be so terribly nervous when Chesterton walks into her bar. I'd figure that she's used to this sort of thing. It'd also be hard to be a bounty hunter while raising a child and running the waystation. I can see where you're coming from though.

Basically, all we know is that it is an unimportant side-world, that may or may not have a Hoid appearance to it. We know nothing about Shards, though I would be surprised if this world had a full one. There's obviously some sort of supernatural magic-y stuff going on.
