Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've given a life update, so here's one before the year wraps up.
My classes went… well. I did end up eventually dropping the English class, since the instructor was just terrible. I passed my accounting class and my history class with a C and a B, respectively. Next quarter, which starts tomorrow, I'll be taking Accounting 1110 and History World Civ. 1500-Present with the same instructors as last quarter. I need better study habits, so if any of you have any tips, they'd be welcome!
I still haven't found a more permanent job. I quit my position at HyVee in April, maybe May, and couldn't find a job all summer. I ended up working at a place here in Nebraska called Vala's Pumpkin Patch, which is a seasonal, farming/Halloween themed park. They're only open September-October, but I worked the whole of those months and made not a small amount of money. For me. So, I need to find a part-time job. Maybe since I'm majoring in accounting, I'll see if any banks near me are hiring.
Hyperion was a wash, unfortunately. I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get into it. Nothing was happening. The world was great, but the book was boring. I knew it was a slow book, but it was too slow for. So I've moved on to the next book in my 2024 reading list, The Great Hunt. It'll be a reread. I've already read WoT once through.
I haven't done a ton of writing, either. Bloodlines, my main book, has been collecting dust for a month or two and I've only written a few small short stories. One thing that I am proud of is a little thing I wrote from a prompt Eddie gave us in an SU about a month before she left. The prompt was "That's the difference." I finished it, and it can be found here! You can leave comments, if you'd like. Feedback is very welcome.
My girlfriend and I are still together!! It's been over a year since we started dating, and I love her more than anything. We've talked a little bit about getting married, but since I've only just started college, we decided that that'll be something we think about more once we're able to have good jobs and support a family.
I've been playing Dark Souls a ton. It is the best game I've played in a long time. If you don't mind dying (a lot), then I highly recommend it. The vibes are immaculate.
That's about it, I think. Goodbye, my friends. And don't you dare go Hollow!
