So you know how books, specifically, the first in a series, usually wrap things up pretty neatly, but leave some things open to set up for the next book?

You do?

Well A Game of Thrones, book one of A Song of Ice and Fire, does not do that. Every single plot thread ends in a cliffhanger.

And I loved it.

Now I just have to wait eleven weeks for my hold to come through on Libby. Gahhhhh.
