Even though I'm a network engineer my password to forums are always simple. My complex ones are tied to banking, anything with my SS #, ect.
It seems the admins on TSG gave up on the site a long time ago. If you don't keep your code updated it's very easy to break into after a period of time with the guides plain as day online.
It's geared towards children since it is a children's book, but you wouldn't regret for a minute the 250ish pages of the book. In a sentence it's about a journey through space to find a father and wrench him out of the grasp of a "dark thing".
I think if you're interested in reading growing up that Narnia and The Lord of the Rings is a staple. I'm surprised no one has mentioned A Wrinkle in Time. That was one of my favorites as a kid.
I think that the series Starlight and Shadows started to pull me into fantasy. I got a little stuck on Dragonlance Chronicles and the first Drizzt trilogy. Someone recommended Wot, then Sword of Fire and Ice and I've been reading things people have recommended online ever since. My family, husband and friends don't seem to read very often.
What is surprising is that they are pulling out of all PC sales. If you have a relationship with either HP or Dell for your desktop clients that is what you normally use for your servers. The prices are relatively the same. Desktops normally are replaces more frequently than clients. There's normally only Dell or HP to choose between. I'm sure Dell will soak this up.
I just saw a review that said it was boring. It wasn't over the top in any way that hadn't been done a million times according to the review.
My husband and I caught up on all the stargates within the last year thanks to netflix. That's how I found out about Conan while looking up some characters on imdb.
It looks like I'll be placing this on the back burner for reading as well. I have a long list already.
I've known about the new Conan movie for over a year now and I've been excited. For some reason the preview looks pretty silly to me. I'll still go watch it this weekend out of curiosity.
It also doesn't follow the original movie story of Conan. I know Robert Jordan helped write some of the novels but I haven't read any to know the storyline.
Has anyone read the books? I know this appeared as #1 on the longest fantasy series list that was floating around not to long ago.
They are both humanoid so I would imagine a cross bred race would be humanoid. I would also imagine tan and blue to be a gray. Oh well, I might have taken it way out of context but at least with Squallor I won't be alone in the theory!
I vaguely remember someone mentioning that somewhere. I really need to read the Brandonology. I got distracted by the fact that there was no ereader chapter page and found a WYSIWYG editor to play with and add one and haven't gotten back to it yet
I took that as a literal Koloss description. He seemed not to be describing his behavior but his physical traits.
The last two weeks went by really quickly!
I'm almost positive that they said 8 chapters. That might be 7 plus the prologue but I'm not sure. Peter might have to chime in on that. There are definitely more chapters to come.
Koloss blood was an interesting remark. Does that mean not only can they breed but they are doing so with humans?
Has anyone read any of the Hugo nominated works? I just noticed that several were short stories posted online.I think between all of the content for best novelette and best short story from the online portions fit into 130ish ereader pages.
I was impressed by Peter Brett for shorter books. I just finished all of the Alcatraz novels and realized that I had bought Warbreaker but never read the book. I have on my list to try Louis Bjold after I'm done.
I just saw this and I'm totally jealous! I think I'm in the non Mormon minority here.
The last Eragon book had a midnight release but the WoT didn't. I was so bummed!
Or you could read this the week before the book is released and get a head start!
I'm going to hopefully not rush through this before finishing Eragon.
The only time we have seen Terrismen is cross bred into Wax and Wayne. When Wayne wanted to disguise himself as a servant he went in Terrisman mode. I'm tossing an assumption out there though.
I don't know the names of the site admins - nice to know the back story on those names.
Originators must be the survivors. That's what I get for reading during work!
Interesting to see that Marsh has his own religion as Sliverism.
I find it odd that Sazed, a Terrisman, is a god and has a mainstream religion but it appears that Terrismen are still in the role that TLR forced them into as servants. I'm trying to wrap my brain around what an Originator could be. I am assuming the term is just for the original Feruchemists but could it encompass Allomancers?
I'm also going to assume that Marasi is an Allomancer. We at least know her relatives that have been kidnapped are. I wonder if they are coming for her at this wedding reception.
There are two good things about that release time. One, Eragon has more of a chance to get a midnight bookstore opening. We will be 6 chapters into A0L and hopefully can get that finished in a night.
