Emerik stepped in front of the guard, slicing his dagger at the guard's arm, leaving a small amount of blood to drip. "Yeah no, that's not going to happen."

"Yes!" Emerik shouted exuberantly. "The penguin play, works every time."

"Penguins make kids happy right? Well there's a kid over there that could use a little bit of cheering up." He thought for a moment then said, "Although it might make your head hurt." Emerik whirled around, dagger at the ready, braced to attack. To the girl, Shana, he said, "Don't worry, I might be scary, but I won't let them hurt you."

"hmm," Emerik contemplated this for a moment. After a few seconds he came to the brilliant deduction that, "Concussions aren't good."

"Thank goodness, he's awake." Emerik thought, out loud he said "You fainted and hit your head. We found a little girl, and I thought it would be a good idea for you to use your penguin powers to help calm her down."

Emerik shook him harder, concern beginning to cover his features. "Par, we could use your penguin powers." Emerik inspected the bleeding wound on his head and tore off a piece of Par's sleeve to make a makeshift bandage.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." He gestured at Aolicei, "You should help her out, She's obviously terrified of me, in the meantime I'll tend to Par." Emerik walked back into the room with the body and gently shook Par.

Emerik recoiled, "I'm sorry," sheathing his dagger, "Did I frighten you?"

Concern on his face, Emerik asked, "Who? Who killed him?"

Emerik lowered the dagger, trying to make himself as least threatening as he could, and stepped over to the girl. "It's ok, we'll help you get out of here." "As soon as we figure out of here that is." He thought

Emerik jumped at the sound, but relaxed slightly at the realization of what it was. "Hey, it's ok, we're not here to hurt you." He said attempting to cajole the figure out from under the bed, dagger still ready

Emerik looked in the direction, his expression growing dark, "we need to figure this out before one of us is killed."

Emerik stepped up from behind Abihal to inspect the room, dagger still out. He began flipping his coin again. "Do you think this was part of the king's game?"

Startled, Emerik lowered the now unlit dagger, but kept it in his hand, and as silently as he could crept toward where the sound had come from.

Emerik called back to the faint noise he heard behind him, assuming someone was there "If anyone's back there, watch for anything coming up from behind."

"What the heck is happening?" Emerik thought as he pulled out a dagger glowing with a pale yellow light. with enough light to see Emerik followed, heading to the lead position.

"I never said I didn't try to be near when rich people are home. As for crime lords, they steal things with much less subtlety, so I just steal things from them instead."

Those are fun to stack. Personally one of my favorite things to stack is books. All the books in a big pile. with other things on top. *puts saxophone on top of said pile of books*

"In their big mansions of course." Emerik eyed Abihal curiously, he began to roll his coin over his fingers again. "Sometime I would be quite happy to have a conversation about that dagger mentioned by Par."

This is an excellent question, and would be more eloquently stated by a more knowledgeable cosmere fan. Just for future reference, put theories in the theory section or something, it just makes it less easy for people to stumble upon spoilers:)
