  5. Meron watched Mark. He watched as Marewill left and as Mark returned to the table. He walked over to Mark and stood next to him with his arms crossed. "I'm.. sorry, about her." @The Stormfather ~~~ Marewill sat with her back to the door for a few minutes. So far, no one had come up to follow her. She wasn't sure if she'd expected them to. With her tin, she could see Crocus and Lily. They were having dinner at home. Crocus hadn't wanted to attend the "watch party", and she hadn't allowed Lily to go. Eventually she stood up and unlocked the door, but left it closed. She opened the window and climbed into the tree next to it. She descended the tree and began to make her way towards her mother's house. She scaled up one of the walls which led to her room's window and climbed in. Her door was open. That was fine. Mom and Lily didn't know she was here, so she didn't bother closing it for privacy. Lucky Red, though, must have either smelled or heard her. The dog walked through the door and jumped up on Marewill's bed with her. He lied down next to her with his head on her leg. Marewill smiled and began to scratch behind his ear. After her nightmares had gotten worse, Crocus had gotten her a therapy dog. He helped her a lot. After about twenty minutes, she heard footsteps come up the stairs. Lily walked past the door to her room without looking in. Crocus didn't at first, though she did a double take and met Marewill's eyes. "Can you wait for a minute, Lily?" "Sure!" She smiled and entered the elder daughter's room. Crocus sat next to her, on the other side of Lucky Red. "Did it not go well?" She sighed and leaned into her mother's chest. "It started fine, but Mark and I got into an argument, and..." "I see." "Today's just... it's a bad day." "I know, I know. Not only the start of the Games, but the anniversary of..." "Don't call it an anniversary, Mom. That makes it sound like a celebration." Crocus rubbed her daughter's head. "Did you eat?" "Not a lot, no." "Let me put Lily to bed, then I'll bring you some food. Sound good?" Marewill nodded. Crocus kissed the crown of her head and went to tell Lily goodnight.

  8. “Well, thank you for being here. Visit when you can?”
  9. “Thank you. You probably shouldn’t stay too much longer, huh?”

  12. "And when you do... can you tell Death I want to talk to him about something?"
  13. Her eyes squeezed shut, and for a moment her grip on his wrist loosened. But still...
  14. She felt an instant sense of relief, but kept her thumb there. Avatar of Death or not, she wanted to be aware if the pulse got slower or weaker.
