    "So, why are you following a trail of bodies in a sandstorm in the middle of a hallway? You know what, I don't need to ask, it's the clinic of course we're doing this."

    He covers his eyes "Urgh, this... is... hard..." He pulls out his staff "Sand Away!" A little bubble of teleportation magic encompasses him and gets rid of the sand around him.

    "Umm, Aventine? I'm here to... Wait what? Aventine! Where'd you go!" He notices the first body "Oh no. Don't tell me..." He begins dashing forward although his light weight makes it hard for him to progress through the sandstorm.

    The book sees this and, being a book, does nothing.

    The book thuds to the floor "thud" says the book. The book doesn't feel pain for it is a book but it does feel betrayal at the furry creature for smacking it off it's home.

    Almond awakes slowly. He sees the door open a crack but is too tired to investigate. He falls back into slumber, awkwardly knocking over (Insert large, loud crashable object here) with a crash with his tail before falling asleep.

    Almond awakes in a new gray form. Seemingly really tired he slowly darkens to his normal brown and looks around. He's still in Aventine's (The boys'?) room. Both children are sleeping soundly as he gets up and enters the hallway. @Spark of Hope

    "Ok, uh, don't start dying again..." As Almond walks away he suddenly thinks Wait? Gemini?

    "Well... that's good... Do you need someone to keep an eye on Lukas while you deal with... this?"

    "Oh, well... now I feel bad. I hope I didn't give him a concussion."

    Angry Almond shouts "What the **** happened!" before slowly fading back to normal(ish).

    Amond walks into this horrible sight. Crouching low he gets up behind the child and whacks him as hard as physically possible, turning (literally) red from anger.

    Almond awakes with a start. Something's wrong. He can feel it. He grabs his staff and carefully holds it over his head ready to swing as he creeps down the hallways. @Spark of Hope @Ancient Elantrian
