I'm also not the biggest fan of the ship, but I really like the way you phrased this. I agree, the only way I feel their relationship could work romantically is if Syl is no longer dependent on Kaladin due to her nature as a Nahel Spren. Relating on equal ground.

I think you're technically both correct. I'd have to re-read the scene again, but from what I remember Nergaoul infected Amaram's troops with the Thrill to a large degree (due to his close proximity), increasing their bloodlust and urge to fight above all else. While the soldiers were in that state, it allowed an army of Voidspren brought forth from the Everstorm to bond with them like the Singers do. Once Nergaoul was captured within the King's drop, it freed the soldiers from that state, forcing the Voidspren out of their hosts and back into the Everstorm.

Mistborn vs. 3rd ideal Skybreaker.

Cultivationspren be chilling until that Anti-Lifelight comes around. And good point on the Adonalsium-spren. Just wanted to make sure I covered my bases. -
Mistborn vs. 3rd ideal Skybreaker.
Werewolff Studios replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most spren made up of a blend of Honor and Cultivation's Investiture, or Adonlasium's Investiture for the spren that predate the Shattering? The only spren we've seen killed by anti-light have been Honorspren specifically. Alongside the Fused of course, which run on Voidlight. Not meaning to derail the discussion- just want to make sure the info's correct -
A question about Atium feruchemy
Werewolff Studios replied to Friendshipspren's question in Cosmere Q&A
That's a valid point, though Hoid burned Lerasium without much issue (though he is a bit special, so maybe I shouldn't use him as an example) My current speculation is that Intent is the biggest factor. Like, a Rosharan or a Nalthin could burn Lerasium (and maybe other god metals) so long as they knew what they were and how Allomancy works. A Scadrian is going to have a more natural inclination towards burning metals due to the piece of Preservation inside of them, meaning their Intent for god metals would likely be a lot more natural. But that's also speculation until we see it on screen. -

Sorry, just wanted to mention one other WOB from the last spoiler stream regarding the nature of Pure Atium and who could burn it. -
A question about Atium feruchemy
Werewolff Studios replied to Friendshipspren's question in Cosmere Q&A
Yeah, this is tricky. There's a few WOB around burning Shardblades and other god metals, but it's hard to know if Brandon's referring to dead Shardblades or Sprenblades. Here's the main ones I found. This one implies that the differences of Investiture would make it difficult, but... This one states that a Mistborn could burn it. My personal theory is that a Mistborn could burn a Deadeye Shardblade (or at least shavings/ beads of its metal), as that Investiture is mostly inert - stuck in the Blade form. However, I feel that a living spren would be too Investiture rich for the Mistborn to reliably burn it. It would also take a looooong time to burn away the amount of metal within a Sprenblade. Plus, you're also dealing with opposing Intent with a living spren; I'd imagine it'd be kind of like an object resisting Soulcasting, but to a higher extent. -
Beautiful countries for sure; would recommend (not that I'm biased, of course). Just rather hot this time of year. I've wanted to visit the US for awhile too; seems like there's a lot of places to see over your way.

Same to you! And I'm from Australia; thank you for asking What about yourself?

Mistborn V.S. 3rd Ideal Lightweaver
Werewolff Studios replied to Wits instant noodles's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I believe the meaning of this phrasing was that Jezrien's soul couldn't reincarnate anymore, as he couldn't return to Braize, making his soul 'ordinary' in that once he died he went to the Beyond. Whether or not he could've been captured in the first place though is another matter. Besides that, Odium's forces couldn't hold him long in the gemstone, as he couldn't exist outside of his body for very long. I feel that if Odium's forces had the capability of trapping ordinary souls in gemstones, using Raysium, that they'd be doing so more frequently in the ongoing war. -
Adonalsium² ?

Mistborn V.S. 3rd Ideal Lightweaver
Werewolff Studios replied to Wits instant noodles's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Not to derail the topic, but I believe the reason this worked is because Jezrien's a Cognitve Shadow and therefore similar to the spren. It also specifically required a Raysium dagger to draw the Investiture into the gemstone. I feel that it's a bit of an assumption to take that one specialized example and apply it to all souls in the cosmere. -
A question about Atium feruchemy
Werewolff Studios replied to Friendshipspren's question in Cosmere Q&A
Perhaps, though it might be tricky as Feruchemy itself is a mixture of both Preservation and Ruin. Maybe you'd need to consume both Lerasium and Atium first. Found this WOB which might be helpful: -
A question about Atium feruchemy
Werewolff Studios replied to Friendshipspren's question in Cosmere Q&A
We don't know 100% how pure Atium works as (almost) all the Atium we've seen used in the books is the alloy of Electrum and Atium. However, if we use that as a example, then God Metal alloys can't be burned by anyone that isn't a Mistborn. Since the Shardblades are alloys of Honor and Cultivation, I'd imagine that would be why. Plus, there's sentient Investiture present due to the spren, which would possibly interfere as well. The Honorblades though (assuming that they are purely Tanavastium) possibly could be burned by anyone. Although they'd need to have the correct Intent, which the Rosharans wouldn't have at the present time. -
100%. Would be amazing to meet him and the Dragonsteel team. Don't think it'll happen for awhile though - am a few continents away myself

How long is a piece of string? -
Really interesting point about the masks! Hadn't noticed that before. For me though, I don't think the appearance of the spren themselves are terribly unusual. The Rosharans still use fires fairly regularly. Spheres don't cook things after all, plus we see flamespren quite a few times throughout the series. So I don't feel it's unlikely Rosharans could cognitively generate ashspren. In addition, the amount of moisture that fills Rosharan air (especially after a highstorm) would have ample opportunity to generate mists. There's also a lot of water in general, meaning early ocean mists would be fairly common. There's also a lot of foggy scenes mentioned as well. Again, over generations this would make a cognitive sense. As @Ookla the Kobold also pointed out, the Radiants predate a lot of Scadrial history too, and there's evidence that some spren predate the shattering. Now, does that mean there's absolutely no connection with Scadrial, the literal mist planet? I suppose we'll have to wait and see... Interesting theorizing though!

The real reason Atium is powerful: bad writing
Werewolff Studios replied to Frustration's topic in Mistborn
I'd like to confirm something regarding your stance towards Atium, if that's alright. Are you referring to Atium being less useful for a regular person in something like a street fight, that it should be less useful for Mistborn specifically, or that the mechanics themselves don't play out as described? -
Same! The amount of thought that he puts into characters, their outlooks and their beliefs is simply wonderful. It's honestly inspiring and helped me, and I'm sure plenty of others, in their own works. That's not even mentioning the writing courses he's put up on Youtube for free! A top bloke to be sure.

Was during a month-long school camp, actually. I'd brought along some books to read since there wasn't any phones or wifi service (we were right out in the bush). I finished my last one with a week and a half to spare, so a friend of mine gave me The Final Empire to read. I devoured that book like few before. Anyway, after we got back I ran to the school library and read through Steelheart, which was the only book of Brando's they had at the time. Followed that with Firefight, then the rest of Mistborn Era 1 and the rest is history

Correct. Chromium does burn roughly as fast as duralumin though, as per the below WOB. -
Mistborn V.S. 3rd ideal Windrunner
Werewolff Studios replied to Wits instant noodles's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This is a really solid breakdown actually, thanks for the concise formatting! I'm sorry though, but I feel a few points are worth expanding upon, if that's alright. (I will say though that I'm working on this with the believe that both combatants have equal Investiture, rather than a single burst in each.) Steel and Iron pulling relies on metal anchors. On this battlefield, the only anchors are loose coins, severely limiting a Mistborn's mobility when compared to a Radiant. That's also not counting the fact that a Radiant could remove the metal they'd be wearing, belt and boot buckles most likely. They wouldn't likely be carrying much else. Emotional Allomancy is a potential advantage, but it will vary a lot person to person. Kaladin would be vulnerable, sure, but someone like the Lopen; not as much. Plus there's always the spren, and we're not even sure if Emotional Allomancy can effect them at the moment. So it's hard to stack up it's viability. I don't fully know the advantage of time bubbles either. They'd be great for giving the Mistborn some time to restock their metal, but any time they're using them, they're either cutting themselves off from the fight, or locking themselves in a room with the Radiant. Maybe they could close the distance between them, but then the Radiant can Lash themselves skyward, even further than the Mistborn could travel. If you see a major advantage here though, feel free to correct me. I could certainly be missing something. Here's where I'm standing at the end of it all though. A Mistborn is powerful and versatile, absolutely. They have a lot of abilities that could grant them a lot of potential advantages. That's why they make such great assassins and spies, able to adapt to a lot of situations. But they're also used to fighting guards and Mistings beneath their level of power. Again, look at Shan Elariel, who's probably our best look at your average Mistborn. She was skilled, yes, but she also lost to Vin who'd had more experience fighting through her upbringing. Contrast this with a Windrunner, all of which have spent most of their time fighting and training against other Windrunners or the Fused. Again, they're soldiers with discipline, and likely more aware of their own limitations and, in this hypothetical, likely trained with Kaladin and Teft. I can't help but feel that, without prior knowledge that Leeching would work on Stormlight (though we also don't know how Intent or drain rate might play into this), the Mistborn would be more confident in their Allomancy, getting close to strike and being killed by an unblockable lance they couldn't see was coming. Again, without Atium that is. Atium is like, 90% a Mistborn win at the least. -
Mistborn V.S. 3rd ideal Windrunner
Werewolff Studios replied to Wits instant noodles's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Hard to say about plate and how that reacts, but I feel that's not really relevant as that's not the original question. I don't feel like calling it a lucky hit gives the Radiant enough justice. If the Radiant lands a single hit, it's done. If the Radiant slices a Mistborn's arm, they couldn't use that arm to Leech or throw coins etc either. And when considering that the average Mistborn is trained as an assassin and the average Windrunner is trained as a soldier, I feel that the combative advantage leans towards the Radiant too. In the scenario you proposed, when it's a one and done Leeching, I agree; the Mistborn has the advantage. However, utilizing a more standard kit means the Radiant would have more spheres, and the Mistborn can only Leech once before replenishing their metal. A Radiant has to breathe in and they're renewed. And what happens if the fight begins and the Radiant waits to summon their blade? The Mistborn leaps close to Leech them and suddenly a spear appears an inch from their chest, leaving them no time to react? I feel that @Tamriel Wolfsbaine nailed it with the list below though. Mistborn no atium >1st and 2nd ideal. 3rd ideal with blade > mistborn no atium. 3rd ideal with blade >= mistborn no atium but firearms (Era 2) Mistborn with atium > 3rd ideal with blade 4th ideal with blade and plate > mistborn with atium or firearms 4th ideal with blade and plate >= mistborn with guns and atium We aren't taking plot armour into account either
