    Corysande made her way over, clutching her side. Shimmering silver liquid leaked between her fingers. Blood. "Holt! Are you okay??"

    It lunged at him, pinning him to the ground. Its claws sunk into his shoulders.

    Corysande did what she could with branches and roots, making a web from the foliage that slowed the panther down for just long enough for Holt to get some good distance between him and the panther. It turned on her too quickly for her to react, and its claws caught her ribs. She screamed.

    He very much did get its attention. It yowled and chased after him.

    The panther lunged at Corysande, pinning her and nearly biting off her head. She tore a root from the ground before it could hurt her too bad, though, and rammed it into the panther's side. The panther scampered up a tree, hurting. It started looking for Holt.

    She made more branches move aside, and suddenly, there it was. She gasped, color draining from her face. It hissed and growled, then leapt. She smacked it out of the air with a large tree limb, and it fell a few yards away. okay so to add another level of conflict (and also because i think it makes sense with her behavior lately) imma say she got cursed too and she's currently mortal she still has her abilities but she's able to die and get wounded and imma say her older sister also got cursed i gotta figure out how but yes

    It prowled forward, leaping between branches with practiced ease. "Where??"

    On the fourth tree, he came face to face with a giant panther. It bared its teeth at him, hissing.

    She reached out her hand, tilting her head. At her command, the tree branches moved and parted, but there was nothing. She frowned. She didn't like this.

    “I… I don’t know… I can try to see.”

    Leaves rustled, and Corysande flinched back.

    “Cool, I guess.” Something deep in the trees nearby growled.

    “Oh.” She frowned, fascinated.

    but i’m not going to let myself decorate it until i have the first half of my english project outline done

    “So… you’re, like, half and half?”

    “Well… you’re a Drus, aren’t you? So you’re… not human. I just wondered if you had some different characteristics.” She tilted her head.

    “That sounds really nice. Just… being one with nature.” She paused. “Do you… look human?”

    “That’s okay. Just… just tell me next time.” okay i’m actually tripping because it took me to this post when i clicked on the notif that you quoted me and i was like “weird change in formatting but ok” and then i literally started writing out corysande’s response before i noticed

    we have an e-learning day today because of the crazy weather

    and it feels like saturday
