      The musical speeds up the story so much, I'm amazed that it's comprehendable at all

      And some of Hugo's digressions are fun too

      (Taking a 101 on French 18th-19th century history before reading it might be useful though)

      watch the BBC TV show

      it’s not as detailed as the book, but it’s FAR FAR FAR FARRR more detailed than the musical

      AND THE ACTING IS SO GOOOOD

      my mom and i watched it on Amazon Prime

      it’s six episodes long
