@Silver Phantom yeah, hair is hard! so basically what I do is sketch out everything—placement of the hair, shape and size and texture/silhouette—and then shade it in lightly before adding more detail. i like to shade in the direction the hair falls so it looks more natural, and your pencil strokes will start to look like strands of hair. you can add individual strands over the top of your shading and around the body of hair afterward and play around with it! you don’t want to shade too dark at first or you’ll lose the strands, but you don’t want to shade too light either, or it might look like spaghetti, like you said before. idk if i explained that well but that’s how i do hair when i’m drawing paper + pencil
