  1. “I’m stopping them fine,” Xiylna snapped, destroying more undead. “And I’m not darkness. I’m not alive, not dead. These,” she gestures at the monsters around them, “are beasts with bodies, but no soul. I’m just a solo with no body.” She shivers, looking at the man. “That’s darkness. Go destroy him.”
  2. Xiylna shivers. “I…I don’t think I want any of your light. I’m sorry.” “What? Where is it?”
  3. “There is no light,” Xiylna said quietly, barely audible. “Let him! We are greater than these nightmares!”
  4. Xiylna blinks. (Her eyes shrink to lines and then grow back to eyes.) “Me? No, no, I’m not an immortal! I’m dead, yes, long, long dead. A soul with no body, a spirit with no purpose. That’s me!”
  5. Xiylna floats down to the ground. “Hmm,” she says softly, touching the grass experimentally. Her ‘hand’ goes through it. “I miss the grass,” she says softly. “Soft grass. Green grass. And the sun. I miss feeling the sun on my face. I miss having a face.” Then she shudders. “No, no, I don’t. I don’t miss the pain. I don’t miss bleeding. I’m glad I’m not human,” she says decidedly, and floats back into the air, where she immediately begins setting corpses alight and vaporizing bone creatures.
  6. Xiylna mirrored his shrug. “But I am not human, have not been human for a long time, and so it doesn’t matter.”
  7. Xiylna twitched her fingers faster, killing more of the bone-creatures. “See? See, I’m not human,” she murmured to herself. “No, no, not a human. Never a human, never again.”
  8. Xiylna twitched her fingers, trying to taint the bones so they’d collapse.
  9. “Time stopped,” Xiylna breathed, awed. “Everyone, MOVE.”
  10. Xiylna narrowed her eyes. “How can you tell me that hard things can be good when you so easily ignore your own nightmares?”
  11. “Y-yes,” she says, eyes charcoal. “Yes, I think so. She shivers, her cloud temporarily dispersing. “I don’t want to be a human.” She notices the shadows. “What are those?”
  12. Xiylna thought about it for a moment, then pulled away. “No, she finally said, sounding calmer. “No, no. To be human is to be weak. To be human is to be temporary. I am neither of those things. I should not be afraid, for I am not human. I cannot die, for I am already dead. Thank you.” As she speaks, her eyes harden to black and she slowly fades back into a cloud of vapor.
  13. “No, no no,” she whimpered. “I was human, once upon a time, I know. I know. I lived a human life, yes, yes I did, oh yes I did.” She started to cry. “Look, look, you see? I can cry. I shouldn’t be able to cry, humans cry, I don’t cry, I can’t be human again, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t. Please, please.” She looks up at him, her human eyes shockingly blue. “Please, please don’t make me live. I don’t want to. I can’t do it, I can’t do it, no no no, can you help me? Please?”
  14. “NO. DONT.” “I—I used to breathe, once, I…I can’t. I can’t do it, I can’t go back, I can’t become this, I’m not, I—help. Please, please, someone help me. I can’t be human alone. I can’t be human, period. I AM NOT HUMAN.” Xiylna starts to hover above the ground, only about an inch, and she still appears human, but it’s something.
  15. Xiylna panics even more. Her breathing speeds up, her heart pounds, sweat trickles down her brow. Each sensation terrifies her more, scares her because she shouldn’t be able to breathe, shouldn’t have a heart, or a brow, or swear. “Right, right, control. IM NOT IN ANY WAY IN CONTROL OF THIS, YOU IDIOT.”
  16. “N-never!” She called back, looking in awe at her hands. Suddenly she reached out and touched shovel man’s arm, shocked that she could do so. “How do I make it stop?” She yelled desperately.
  17. As soon as it releases, she shoots up and tries to fly away, but lands on the ground. She looks at Weaver, the whites of her eyes, whites that didn’t exist a moment before, showing as she panics. “What did you do to me? What did you do to me?” @Ancient Elantrian
  18. “Teeth aren't supposed to have legs” @Wittles of Shinovar
  19. Xiylna screamed. Since she wasn’t human, it wasn’t anything near a human scream. It echoed, her voice breaking, but she kept screaming that bone chilling, almost musical scream. For the first time, her form coalesced into something almost human. She looked almost like a young girl with long hair. She writhed, failing to pull away, and attempted to light the grass on fire. It didn’t work.
  20. “I’m already deaaaaddddd,” Xiylna sings happily. “It’s very boring, being dead.”
  21. “Of course I’m real.” Xiylna said. “But it sounds like that isn’t important now. Hey Weaver, what are we going to be fighting?” @Ancient Elantrian
  22. “Well where do we go?” Xiylna said flatly. “I don’t see much of a problem. I can’t exactly die, so…”
