    Xiyna floated down lower to the ground. "I have too many words today. You're very good at listening, Yulli, but I suppose that comes from not being able to talk, the same way my words come from only being able to talk. Oh, what a strange world we live in."

I don't really know. Isn't that odd? I've been alive--well, dead, but I feel more alive dead than I ever did alive. That's odd too, don't you think--but I've been around for a long time, and there are a lot of things I don't know. I think the longer I have to think, the less I know, the less I remember, or maybe it's just this place, because nightmares are very scary. How strange, that I can have nightmares even though I don't sleep. I don't...I...Why are living things so cruel? Why am I the only one left who remembers that they must be destroyed?"

    Xiylna looked at him curiously. "I don't think I know you. Do I want to know you?" Xiylna continued to float in small circles, lost in thought. "I don't know how I got here. I don't remember. There are a lot of things I don't remember. I think I remember you. You are good. You are not bad. Unless you are? Are you bad?"

    "Fighting is bad. I don't know if these people are bad. I don't like bad people. I want to destroy them. Bad people hurt other people, and that's not good. They need to die."

    Seeing Yulli, Xiylna floated over to her. “Hello. The people are fighting. I don’t like fighting.”

    Xiylna, who’s floating, doesn’t notice. “All of you must die, must die, must die. You must be ended, because they say so. All of you…will be…destroyed!” A wave of fire spreads outward from her, hitting the man with shadowed eyes and sleeper. And also everyone else.

    Xiylna flew in quick circles around the fight, growing more and more agitated. "Stop it, stop it, stop it! You are bad, you are all bad, you should all be hated and destroyed, everyone needs to stop fighting, stop stop stop, end it, don't hurt anyone, don't hurt anyone else, please, please I am afraid, I want to destroy you."

    Xiylna zips over to him, looking into his eyes. “I see your pain,” she says. “I see you. Don’t fight, please. They’re already hurting, and they don’t need to hurt more. You don’t need to hurt more, either.” She’s already gone.

    “I care. I care about them and I care about their souls. And I don’t care about you because you are breaking them, yes you are, oh yes, and you need to stop.”

    “Hey!” Xiylna said. “Don’t hurt things. Hurting things is mean.”

    Xiylna blinks. “I don’t like fighting. Fighting is mean. No fighting with sister. Fighting is bad. Why do you want to fight? Do I…do I know you?”

    “No, no, no, I’m not insane, that would be very very bad, insane is not good.” “I don’t like swords. And I don’t think I like you, either.”

    She cocked her head. “No? No, I am not insane. I…do I know you? I don’t think we’ve met.” “Oh yes, yes I’m very well. I don’t quite remember…I don’t remember what I was just doing. How odd.”

    Xiylna suddenly reappeared. “Hello! Where did everyone go? You all left and I was afraid. Oh my. That is a lot of skeletons.” She Tainted several of them, and they collapsed.

    Xiylna is somewhere in the fog and doesn’t answer.

    “No,” she hissed. “No. I will not be bound, not by you and not by anyone,” Xiylna zipped away, disappearing into the fog. “Mmmm…I cannot breathe.”

    “I hate you both and I hate this place and I hate prophecies and I hate I hate I hate I hate I want to destroy I want to crush them I want them to die, die, die! All shall die, death is good, good good good, die, destroy, crush, end, but hope, keep your hope, keep it till you smother it and it dies, dies dies dies, dies like everything else!!”

    “No no no, physical bodies are bad, no swords here, nope nope! “I hate you,” Xiylna sang.

    You could also make a character who isn’t magic, which would mean you’ll probably get killed off pretty quickly, but it’d be easier than being confused the whole time.

    “Nope nope nope, nope nope!” Xiylna said in a singsong tone. “Nope nope nope! We need to leave, we need to leave the dream places. Dream places hurt my head, I don’t like hurting, I don’t have a head, how does it hurt? How strange, how strange.” She continues murmuring and occasionally singing as she floats around.
