  1. Rue nodded and took another bite of chouta.
  2. She raised a single eyebrow. "You swore not to lie. Clearly you're telling the truth."
  3. Rue nodded, still perfectly serene. She took a bite of her chouta. "It's good that you rested."
  4. Inwardly, Rue groaned. He was...the last person she wanted to see. "Hello," she said, face blank.
  5. Rue looked around, suddenly exhausted. "I need some chouta," she murmured, then walked out. Too much...so little, and it was too much for you...
  6. Welcome to the shard! Mistborn is my favorite too, but they're all amazing.
  7. Siylna would have shivered, if she'd had a body of her own. She would have cried, would have clawed at her eyes until they bled, until she didn't have to watch anymore. But she couldn't. She couldn't stop watching. And she couldn't change any of it. Couldn't control anything... Not even herself. She watched deaths, so many deaths, dozens that turned into hundreds that felt like thousands. Stop it! Siylna shouted in her mind. STOP THIS! She tried to talk, to beg, to do anything, but she couldn't. This... This was a nightmare. Pain she could take. But to be stuck? To be trapped in such a way? Siylna let out a mental roar of agony, since try as she might she couldn't make a sound.
  8. Siylna flinched at every new person, every new emotion. She tried to stop it, tried to change their choices, tried...anything. None of it worked, and she continued bouncing between tributes. Useless, dying tributes with genuine, painful emotions. Next was an 11 year old girl, she'd lied about her age because her family needed the money, they'd never dreamed she'd be chosen...the girl huddled into a wall, sobbing, and didn't open her eyes again; since they were squeezed shut, Siylna didn't even see the knife coming, just felt a powerful pain and then she was launched into a new body. This one was a boy, a full 18 years old. His heart was cold and silent and...familiar. It felt comfortable. He killed three tributes before someone finally crushed his head with a rock. Another boy came next, 15 and determined. He hid in a tree for a long time until finally a skinny girl slunk up behind him and her knife took him in the neck. There were more tributes, so many more. They started to blur together, and yet each was completely unique. Each was a person with a story, a life, a hope...all killed so quickly. Siylna tried every time to change their choices, change them, control them, help them, hurt them, kill them, do anything at all to them. None of it changed. And then, finally, she was in the body of the winner...the victor...a dejected boy with blood on his face, and on his hands. He left the arena trembling.
  9. Siylna frowns. “It’s a reality that’s never existed,” she whispered. “A possibility that will never be…” She watched the children surrounding her fight. And they were children, even the ones who were older than her. Meaningless lives ended in a meaningless fight. Siylna sat on the ground to wait. This world of nightmares would not best her. She was stronger… She was a queen, even if her king had left her. And queens didn’t break, especially not over long forgotten dreams.
  10. *hugs anyway* Those are good words, bestie.
  11. Siylna blinked. “Eddie?” She asked. “Eddie, is that you? Do you remember me?”
  12. In the Nightmare Siylna closed her eyes, and suddenly she was somewhere else. It was…it was a party. Not one of the huge ones the Capitol was famous for, but a small and intimate gathering of friends. The sort of thing she’d never been to. And here, for some bizarre reason, she cared. Why? Why did she care? And stars above, why did it hurt so much? She saw an elderly couple hug tightly, saw hands brush over the creamy tablecloth, saw a brother look proudly at his younger sister. It hurt, and she didn’t understand it. Why should such a thing hurt? What was this pain? How was this nightmare somehow so much worse than the first one? ”Take me back,” she whispered to some unknown force. “Take me back to the arena.” @The Wandering Wizard
  13. Rue nodded. “We don’t want to take the weaves out. That would be…very bad.”
  14. Siylna continues to sleep, bleed, and look dead. In the Nightmare Siylna stumbled through the trees, desperate to get away. The sounds of children slaughtering each other echoed in her mind. And the faces…so many faces. Every time she turned there was a new one, another person, another friend…another corpse. They watched her with unseeing eyes, cursed her with unfeeling hearts, mocked her with bloody lips. You… You did this… Monster… Monster… Monster! Siylna turned and ran. She felt them following her, felt them condemning her, and for the first time in years, it hurt. Oh, stars but it hurt. To see their pain and know that she’d caused it… Why did that hurt? It shouldn’t hurt. It didn’t usually hurt. Usually, it was fun, in fact, pleasurable to see her own power. What had they done to her? Siylna stopped running, falling to her hands and knees at the base of a tree and gasping for breath. The faces closed in, and as they did she took a long breath. They would not break her. They had no right…she would break them, break them all and make them stay dead.
  15. Rue looks concerned and takes a step back.
  16. Hehe I just got out of Spanish, we watched Coco.
  17. 627c. Right in the middle only works if you aren’t close friends with the main character.
