Dilsha smiled softly. "A princess, from a land far away, if you're a poet. From Faania, to be more specific. And I may have just caused a war." She grabbed a bag from under her bed, looked around, touched a chain at her throat, then turned and walked out the door.
"Me too," Dilsha murmurs, pulling out a key and unlocking a small door leading off from the kitchen. "Me too. Listen, Alex, I'm not...I'm not who you think I am." She opens the door to reveal a large pantry that's been turned into a bedroom.

"You're an idiot," Dilsha said reflexively. Stupid. If he had any brains at all, he'd know that someone else could've tortured me to learn whatever secrets I have. She smiled. He's definitely not smart enough to be a plant. "And you think there's no such thing as too much salt."
Zira smiled, satisfied, and turned to the guards. "Go get her." @Ookla the Yellow Sock
Once they were gone, she let out a sigh. "I did say I'd be here, didn't I? Alone on top of the world."
Dilsha's eyes widened. "Alex, it's me!" She hissed, stumbling back. Stupid, stupid, he's probably a plant by your parents, or the king, or someone, or...or whatever. I should have just left.
Zira transformed into a bat, flying over the fire and landing on Emma. She fumbled with a vile, trying to pull the stopper but eventually just crushing it in her hand. It sizzled, dripping onto Emma's wing, which began to dissolve.
Rue frowned. "Not unless we could get it moving. And actually, maybe not even then. A gateway that big would take...I don't even want to think how much power."
"Oh dear," Tal said. "Right. Any idea what sort of treatment works for you?"
"No, we don't," Zira hissed. "You're going to go down to the dungeon, and you're going to realize just how much it hurts to fall in love, to kiss them and kill them in the same breath. Understand?" Several guards started to fill up the room behind her.
Clinic: Entrance
Tal, who was sitting at a desk, saw the door open. How did...aren't we floating in a void right...nevermind. Nope. Not going to ask. "Hi..." he said hesitantly. "Welcome to the Insanity Clinic for the Moderately Brandofandonitis and Other Maladies, how can I help you?"
Clinic: Hallway
Rue looked back at TAAron. I meant to say goodbye...light, what a mess. I should have just left. "So. You have any ideas for how to get the clinic out of this void?" I'll go after the clinic is safe.

Dilsha followed, amazed. That was...that was raw human emotion at its finest. A sign of low blood, she'd always been told. But watching him, it suddenly felt like more than that. Like something...noble. Beautiful, even in its ugliness.
Maybe, she decided, I'll stay just a little longer.
And she gobbled him up!! And he was delicious!
Ahem.
Zira sank her fangs into him, almost quivering in delight. She felt the moment his life force left, felt all of it, and some part of her deliriously happy mind felt...guilty? A tiny part. Another part of her worried. This was not normal. This wasn't...she shouldn't be feeling this way. It was a weakness. She needed to be above weakness...but that too was a tiny part of her. Most of her was simply pleased. Satisfied. Finally, she turned, leaving the two drained corpses behind. It was time.

Zira feasted slowly, spending over an hour sucking away every last drop of blood. It was unclear quite when Elan Jr died. She stood up, eyelids heavy with satisfaction. Humans really do taste so wonderful…she stepped up to the bars of Elan’s cell. “You still choose death?”
