Bike race #2…
We’ll see how it goes. I feel kind of icky and this course has a ton of climbing. Plus, I still don’t want to be in JVB and I haven’t had time to really train this year.
is it bad that a piece of me is hoping for an epic crash so that I can have an excuse for being slow?

Marching band is similar honestly. If you don’t have band camp there’s no way you make it through the season, and putting every spare breath into your instrument as you march full speed - sometimes backwards on your toes - across the field, and for brass (especially trombones like me) to keep horn angles above ten degrees parallel…

Yeah. It’s…I don’t know. I think I could do it a lot better if I could get my head on straight. Because absolutely nothing will get you down like losing control of your thoughts. So people who don’t have really solid mental health don’t usually do this sport, which makes it even harder when I struggle because of it and no one else gets it.
I’m feeling a lot better now, though. The only big thing that’s still bothering me is that my sister took 3rd in her category. She also did 2 laps (the same thing I did) and she did it faster than I did.
