One triumph does not make every other fight a victory lap.

Life cannot be lived passively.

Love cannot be complacent.

Compassion requires constant effort.

FSY was beyond words. I know that not all of you believe in God, and not all of you believe in the same God I do. I’m not here to tell you you’re wrong, or that you need to be converted, or anything like that.

I just want to say that you guys are loved, and that you aren’t loved passively. Whether or not you believe it, I know it. I know that we have a Father in Heaven, and I know that He is relentlessly pursuing each of us. Not out of hate, but out of love. Because He has a place prepared for us, and it breaks His heart to imagine that we would not be there. 

I believe in a brokenhearted God.

I believe in a God who sings.

I believe in a God who knows our stories. 

I believe in a God who will carry us.

I know life sucks sometimes, you guys.

I know.

And I know that there is hope.
