  1. A rock hits his shoulder guard as he tries to sidestep it. Blaster sights still trained on the birds, he fires a couple of shots at the bird that hit him.
  2. Larry looks to Nick. "There is something very obvious that's about to happen. I will not be doing nothing against some birds." He unholsters his blaster and takes aim.
  3. Larry shrugs as Nick glides down. "He's right, being stationed in outer space most of the time isn't much fun either. It's like being in the same house or town, except nothing ever changes. There's no sky, no weather." He glances around, and remembers his superiors aren't around to monitor his behavior. "Nothing to look forward to except your breaks. Especially when you're in a patrol team, you start to wonder if life on the ground would be more exciting."
  4. Larry slows his walk to let the others catch up to him. "So no playing god? Just asking for directions?"
  5. "oh." "oh. What?" He trips and tumbles a good 20 feet down, stands up, and continues walking down as if nothing happened.
  6. Slowing down, Larry starts thinking. "We have technology these guys have never seen. We can be gods amongst men!" He tapped his blaster. "Make a bit of a light show, they'll believe anything. I've heard of other divisions doing it while assigned to some far-off star system."
  7. Larry declines. "Some incessant voice telling me what to do is never pleasant. I have my own thoughts for that," he says confidently, tapping his helmeted head. He gets excited once he sees the town, but is disappointed when he realizes its all very medieval and there's not gonna be any way to contact any ships. Kicking a rock down the slope, he grumbles something about "backwater planets" and starts walking.
  8. "Ice... Of course..." Larry nods along, but is almost obviously not doing well in figuring out how and why it's made of ice. He continues "investigating" (knocking and slapping) the wall, wondering if it would actually hold up against a storm
  9. Larry pokes the crystal wall. "Some sort of instant glass enclosure?" He asks to no one in particular. He doesn't join the conversation and instead walks around, touching, and sometimes smacking, the walls. It wasn't like the energy fields that he was familiar with. He wanted it a little, but his priorities were getting back to some 'modern' civilization. "So we're going to be waiting out the storm?"
  10. oo did you count the posts? nice You slip and fall, because you ran at the pool. The sandwich falls into my hands after I dried myself from the normal pool water.
  11. I lounge around in the pool. Like the good person I am, I definitely do not do any nefarious or gross deeds inside the pool. There is nothing but pool water inside the pool, and this does not change with my presence. Yes.
  12. "I think that's just as bad."
  13. "Interesting." This sounds like something Larry has heard of before, but he doesn't say anything. Stopping in his tracks, Larry turned around. "10? Are you only ten years old, and already killing things? Huh. It sounds like your civilization hasn't been reached by us yet. Try to get communications out, perhaps we can help you." "Through solid stone, I'm not very confident. If I were a higher rank, I'd have better radio equipment, but mine may only work for around 20 meters., if that's through the stone."
  14. "That seems similar to what some of our top generals use. There have been rumors of rebels using them as well, though."
  15. "A 'death star'? That sounds dangerous. Though I guess they all are at a certain distance. There likely has been some construction of an artificial star. I'll have to investigate a constructed death-star later," Larry muses, walking towards the light at the end of the tunnel.
  16. Granted, you now have to compete in a large-scale battle for it, spanning 215 forum pages over 2 years. I wish for a shiny rock
  17. "Acknowledged." Standing up, Larry disconnects SIMON, seeing as how he doesn't need it. He turns to Nick. "I don't really understand what those questions mean, but I suppose 'imperial storm-trooper' fits." He does not comment, but instead looks towards the slumbering form down the tunnel. "So we can just leave?"
  18. He lets them bounce harmlessly off his armor and does not react. Larry shakes Nick's hand, unsure if he's heard of his organization. "Soldier 014, division 5, but the others," he nods to Aki and Kaleb, "They address me as Larry. You can do the same if you wish." With a tap, Larry connects to SIMON on his wrist.
  19. Out of- I LOST THE GAME AGAIN!!! -respect, I don't catch you. Instead, I catch the person holding the sandwich, who you were narrating in first person for 14 words before narrating yourself again. The ambiguous person had run into my classic rope net and I take the sandwich from their hand.
  20. Larry stirs from a sleep that felt like 4 weeks long, and sits up. He notices the three in front of him. Aki and Kaleb he knows, but the one in a more advanced suit was new. His arm display showed an AI trying to connect, which was confusing. More confusing was the sand in the cracks of his armor, the suddenly dark stone surroundings, and the red eyes. "Hey, what's the situation?" He says to the others, maybe a little too loudly.
