    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

"To abandon one's sword at a time of action is dishonorable April!" He leveled the blade at August. "If you're going to fight, can we move to an open area . . ?" July asked timidly. March gave him a hot glare, "And give you both a chance to run? I don't think so."

"Wh-what? Did you see something?" "Yua! March is here, I saw him!" July suddenly said, panic in his voice. In a low voice, August muttered several words in another language that were likely expletives. Riding away in a crowd like this would be near impossible, though on foot they might be able to loose him. But it would be hard with such a big group. "I don't mind attention, plus, it's not like he'll come along peacefully." March pushed past the last few people, reaching August party. A wicked grin burst out on to his face when he saw July. "You've been travelling together? How incredibly fortunate for me!" August stared at him, clearly wanting to run but knowing it wouldn't end well.

"I know it was him!" March grabbed her by the arm with one hand and started dragging her through the crowd to where they were. "He's cut his hair, but I'd recognize that insufferable man anywhere." He draw his long-sword with his other hand. "What is it?" August asks, freezing.

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

March continued to hum as he walked down the street, happily following after November and April. It was a lovely morning, the sun was bright and the scent of fresh street food wafted through the air. Maybe he'd stop and get something . . . sure, he'd already had a drink this morning but that's not a proper breakfast. He broke off from the other two to approach a dumpling cart on the side of the street. Hot steam rose from the cart, and he had to wipe it off of his glasses. After paying the man running the cart, he grabbed a small paper bundle of dumplings. Unwrapping it, March pulled one out and took a bite. He looked out at the crowd, trying to relocate November and April, he really shouldn't let them wander off on their own. Instead his eyes caught a small group gathered on the side of the street, talking. One of the shorter men looked familiar to him, the way he stood was too precise and for him to be just a traveler. He walked like an army captain . . . March realized it was August, of all people. He hadn't recognized him because August had caught his hair much shorter then March had ever seen it before. He supposed a curly mess like that would be easier to take care of if it was shorter. Not that August had ever been loathe to spend time on his hair. March remembered a time when he had done 4-5 hour morning routine out of spite towards his responsibilities . . . talk about willful negligence. March chewed thoughtfully. He really hated that guy, but what was he doing here? August was here. Void take him the other campaign was looking for August!! Had that drink really gone to his head so quickly? March pushed his way through the crowd to Novemeber and April, who were further down the street. "I saw August! He's with a party right over there!"

"Well you were the one with the long term plan," He said sheepishly. "We probably shouldn't stay more then a week or so, September's hunting party is likely still following us to some degree." "Aw," July said, clearly disappointed. "We really got to shake them at some point." August nodded, "I'll think of something." @Spark of Hope

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

As they entered through the gate, July looked around in wonder. He loved big cities like this, there was so much to see and do. The energy in the crowd made him buzz with excitement, relieving some of the heaviness of the past few days. Maybe everything would turn out alright. "Our first order of business should be finding some place to stay," August said as he dismounted his horse. "Can we find some breakfast too?" July added, "I'm hungry." "Sure, I still have quite a bit of money left so I don't think we'll need to worry about that sort of thing." He pulled a inconspicuous looking wallet out of one of his saddlebags. "If we do run out of money I can get another job! Now I have work experience people will be happy to hire me!" July said excitedly. "Sure . . . though I'm not sure how long we plan on staying." August looked over to Ma'tani

"Yeah, I'm just waiting for November--wouldn't want him to get left behind." March gestured at him.

March sat the empty mug on the hard wooden table and rose, grabbing his bag. "Where are the visions saying to go today?" He asked, a smirk on his face. @The Bookwyrm

"Hey where are you going?? We can start the search again soon enough, but let me at least finish my drink," March grumbled. He dumped the last contents of his drink in his mouth, unaware of the offense he'd caused everyone--or at the very least uncaring.

March rolled his eyes, "Oh because war is so different over in the east. All battles led by silly politicians are the same, doesn't matter the country--I recognize foolishness when I see it."
  12. "It'll take some adjusting, but I'll get used to it," He said, after considering for a moment.

March laughed out loud, shoulder's shaking. "Don't be silly--we're having a discussion, they're killing each other over petty politics, that's entirely different." He wiped a tear out of his eye and leaned closer. "Besides, we may have our differences, but at the end of the day we're both loyal to Father are we not? The easterners can't say the same."

    "Hmm let's see, I'm saying that the easterners are stupid . . . a common insight I'm always happy to give . . . What's your point?"

"And that's why they're stupid, April, they should know how to agree with each other, they're all easterners after all."
  18. "Your welcome! And once again, you're not in my debt at all, don't worry about it." She gave him another smile and ran off to her wagon, climbing up into the back where her bag was. @Ancient Elantrian @Just_a_Fan @J. He waved his hand dismissively. "I love the guy, but Father just puts way too much value in the most useless talents. Those little gadgets July is good at making aren't going to make him a good emperor--and I get that bards can be influential and have the people's good opinion, but June is a bard who doesn't care about opinion and influence."
