  1. "Well, you eat it. You should immediately have access to the power it provides. When you burn it, it should make you a mistborn with full Allomantic potential."
  2. That was originally going to be how I did it, but given the insane power of 4x casting, I thought that that would be particularly unbalanced. I guess it could just be much rarer that I was thinking originally, but then you're pretty much going to have deity-adjacent magic beings, whereas I was thinking of a more minor system that could be incorporated into society in various ways.
  3. AIf anyome has any ideas, I'm interested in discussing how this could be more limited. Right now, someone who works as, say, a Healer could rectify the unbalance by casting a simple Darkness spell on a days off. Even if they ended up getting close to overtilting because of how rare and needed their ability is, in-universe Tilter staff would undoubtedly be given breaks to replenish the balance so they could keep working safely. It could make for a nice dramatic moment in a story to have that type of sacrifice be made, although being in the presence of a Lean on either side is just a bad idea, so that probably couldn't work. Idk.
  4. The idea was that it would be pretty much instinctual, although there is some skill involved, similarly to Allomancy or Feruchemy.
  5. Yes, sorry I must have forgotten to put that down.
  6. Recently I made up this weird magic system that /i call Tilting, and I wanted to get you opinion about it. Basically, Tilters have access to 8 specific powers. 4 of them fall into the Light category, while the other for go in Dark. The main quirk is that Light and Dark spells form a balance. If they cast a Light spell, the balance shifts to the right, and vice versa. If you go to 16 on either side, an explosion of the related power type occurs and the Tilter is killed instantly. A Tilter being killed by over-tilting (Leaning) upsets the Total Balance. The same rules apply to the total balance, except 1) there are 32 levels of balance on each side and 2) the tilter who over0titls the total balance gets [insert increased power thingy] for 64 days, before dying in an even more spectacular burst of power. So that's the gist. If you're interested, go ahead and look at the full list of abilities below. I would appreciate any feedback. If you think the whole thing is garbage, that's fine. I hope you don't but I did make this whole thing in like an hour so I'm not very emotionally attached. Also, let me know if you have any questions, this is pretty scuffed.
  7. I have not. I assume it's a non-Cosmere Sanderson book?
  8. "Are you sure? According to all of my studies, anyone could ingest Lerasium and gain full Allomantic potential. And turning into a windchime didn't save you this time, anyways. I'm pretty sure my Feruchemical studies for Lerasium are fruitless anyways. I would need to be a full Feruchemist to even experiment. That means the only use I could get out of it would be to use it as a Hemalurgic spike, which would be pointless and involve killing someone, or to use it Allomantically and try to use its unknown main effect, which is also pretty pointless since I have no idea what I would do and this is my last bead." He stopped, taking a deep breath. "Wow, I'm hungry. I should probably stop tapping." His speech returning to a normal pace, he said: "Look, I'm really scared for you. He had complete control over you for a while there, and I know nothing about the magic he used. I doubt I could overrule it with emotional Allomancy, and even if I can, I won't always be there to do it. Heck, he can probably control me. I don't know where who or whatever that was that took him, or what they are doing with him, but I'm not comfortable with having you defenseless unless I know for sure he is contained. So unless you have a really good reason not to, you should take it."
  9. "Magical forgetting, huh? Well..." TAAron sighed. "Look, I don't trust that Mr. Hierarchy over there isn't going to come back and try to get to you again. So, here." He held out his last bead of Lerasium. "Take it. You need to be able to defend yourself."
  10. "Okay. I really do think it's important, by the way. I can tell that you're uncomfortable with talking about Karden, but he tried to get at Calano, was an incredibly dangerous fighter, and mind-controlled you! Who is he?" Hoping it wouldn't be too jarring, he switched his zinc to a slight encouragement, and used brass to Soothe her apprehension.
  11. "I'll come, Haly!" TAAron yelled, hoping she could hear him. He could still feel her with emotional Allomancy, and he hit her with a wave of rioted discouragement. It wasn't exactly subtle, but he hoped it would do the trick. He smiled. "No, sorry."
  12. "Yikes. I'm fine, I got some help from Feruchemical Zinc. I can compound it now!" "No, I don't think so. Is Calano the one in charge of this place? If so, Karden was definitely looking for him."
  13. TAAron gave her the medication. "J? Who's J? Are you o... that's a stupid question. What did that guy Karden do to you?"
  14. "I know where the infirmary is!" TAAron exclaimed. He grabbed a vial of metals from his bag which lay just outside the door to the library, and used pewter to run at an inhuman sprint there and back, grabbing a magical medication for headaches and bringing it to Haly.
  15. "Pretty much nothing. He told me he wanted to understand the hierarchy of the clinic, and he was reading a book on the clinic's history just before the fight. He also said that he was not merciful, and alluded to taking over the clinic during the fight, which I assume you heard. The book is right over there." He pointed to the spot of the floor where it had fallen. TAAron had said it all very quickly, his mind moving dozens of times faster than his mouth ever could.
  16. TAAron's mind was quite literally racing, but he was distracted by the fight at hand. Hoping Karden would be off balance from the spell Nameless had used, TAAron pounced again, using duralumin and pewter to slam him on the the ground and do his best to hold him there.
  17. TAAron grabbed Karden's hand and yanked it away, but no longer had steel from his duralumin push just before. He still did have pewter, and he used it to attack the man will full force.
  18. With a near-instantaneous reaction time, TAAron deflects the spear and launches himself up, then straight down at his opponent.
  19. While Karden's abilities were difficult to process, it didn't take TAAron all too long. As Nameless apparently struck up a conversation with the strange man, he launched himself at Karden in an attempt at melee combat, mostly to test his opponent further.
