    After walking for a while, TAAron spoke up. "This is pointless. We should just give up." The tone of his voice was off, but only subtly.

    "Should we keep on moving, then?"

    "What kind of traps could there be? So far, everything is just a blank hallway."

    "Well, they haven't tried very hard to do that yet. Maybe that's a good sign?"

    "Oh. And when and why would that start happening?"

    Lerac looked thoughtful. "Maybe if we made loud enough music, we could make them take us there just so we'd stop." Ignoring the life magician, TAAron asked, "Nameless, why did you say that this place is so dangerous? Right now, it seem like the only danger is getting trapped in here until we run out of water."

    TAAron frowned. "Does that help us at all?"

    "Well, just try your best. Are you ready to make a gateway?"

    Doesn't an Aon just need to be drawn right the first time, and then if you mess with it afterwards it won't matter? The book states that Aons drawn in dust and such would work and keep working even if the actual form was disrupted.

    TAAron put in, "Do you think it would help at all to visualize what you know about the Chamber itself, and the rooms around it?"

    "Right... But we don't have a map."

    "Oh. And how about making a gateway to an area? Don't you need to know that place, as well?"

    Lerac had come back to wishing a tune, which has grown slower as the man became more bored. "Anything particularly interesting about it?" he asked.

    "Alright." He stopped and sat down against a wall.

    "Well, I think almost anywhere else in this dimension would make a good start."

    TAAron groaned. "Look, I'm trying my best here. Do you have a different suggestion?"

    "So, unless we have a magical way to manipulate luck, we should probably get to learning how these hallways connect, how consistent it is, and then hopefully we can uncover new hallways more efficiently."

    "That might be difficult... How did the people in the book do it?"
  21. The Aspiring Archivist
    "Do you think we might notice something if we note down connections between hallways? If we could label each one with some unique identifier, then we could maybe get an idea of how these hallways connect to each other."

    TAAron sighed. "Well, then, I'm at a loss for how we could figure out the correct path. If the hallways are being shifted around randomly, there wouldn't really be much of a pattern to follow, would there?"

    "Should we try to find and talk to one of those snake people again?"

    "Well, why did you bring it up?"
