    TAAron looked even more concerned. "Haly, is something going on? Your emotions seem to be a bit... all over the place."

    "What are playing along to? Come on, Haly, don't give up now."

    "No. No, it won't. Not this time." Lerac raised an eyebrow at her.

    "It feels like there's a lot of... Noise around here."

    "You've already made a difference, Haly. No matter how this turns out."

    "What? Yes you can! You've done nothing but help. I'd given up on myself and you... showed me that someone cared. And you were willing to go to the tower, and help me all the way there. So don't say that."

    TAAron smiled wickedly. Then, the smile disappeared. Seeing that he was back to normal, Lerac rushed to heal his arm. "Haly? Haly, what's wrong? What happened?" TAAron pulled away from Lerac and rushed to her side.

    "What did you do? Don't you realize it's happening again with TAAron?"

    "What was it, then? Where did you go wrong? How did you manage to fail so many times?"

    "You know, maybe all of those people you tried to protect won't have died if you had a better handle on your emotions."

    "Maybe. Where should I start?"

    "Sure! Go ahead! Just give my hand a little shove, that's all it'll take. Go on, be a good little halcyon."

    "Any more applicable lessons?"

    He jerked back to be out of her reach, the sudden motion making a shallow scrape on his neck. "Careful, little halcyon. That word really strikes a nerve, doesn't it?"

    "Alright." He stepped back and bright the dagger out again, bringing it up to his own neck until the blade barely touched his skin. It stopped there. "Not quite. Not yet. But soon, halcyon. Not too much longer."

    "I cannot. But I can do this, apparently." He cut a thin scratch along the inside of his own arm. Re-sheathing the dagger, he faced forward. "Ready to go, little halcyon?"

    "If only... If only I could just take this dagger..." He unsheathed the dagger at his side. "And stab you with it." All the while he did not release the grip.

    "Not particularly. But it's good to know I have an easy way to get two of you at once. Endanger one, wait for the other to come running, and there." He twisted it further.

    "You really care about him, don't you?" He gripped her hand tighter and twisted it painfully.

    TAAron waited get her to approach, the grasped her hand. "Ready to die?" He laughed softly and darkly.

    "Sure. So... How do we do it?"

    Not entirely sure how the 90-day period for name changes works, but I'm stuck as Ookla the Inverted until at least January 4th. Unless I can get a mod to change it or something.

    In other news, it's almost winter break yayyyy. Hope finals are going or have gone well for all you school-goers out there. Thankfully, I don't have very many of them left.
