    TAAron nodded slightly, eyes lingering on Haly as though searching for recognition. Lerac observed, and noticed Sykel's comment. "Oh, dear."

    Yes, it is strange. "Who knows. Maybe... it is still there, but I just don't know the person I felt it for anymore."

    He looked conflicted. Sitting for a while, he began humming a familiar tune. The same one, How He Left Me. "Do you think... it would have carried over? Those kinds of emotions?"

    "You're... welcome." Almost without thinking, he reached to take her hand, but then pulled away. Why did I...

    "And... 'Protect her. Know her. Don't forget.' And then it kind of... repeats? It's weird. It's like a thought that I remember but that I don't remember thinking."

    TAAron's eyes remained closed. "It's fading, like a dream. 'Haly. Don't forget Haly. She is the most important.'" He looked up. "Is that you?"

    "I... don't know. But I do somehow. I'm really confused here, honestly. I can't remember anything." He closed his eyes, as though concentrating. "Except... I do. A voice. A thought, maybe."

    "I'm... not dead. Look at me." Something inside TAAron that he didn't understand was driving him on in spite of his confusion. "You're saying he... I loved you?"

    "I... what happened to me, then?" Still looking confused but also a little concerned, he walked over to Haly and knelt down in front of her. His voice was kind, but wary. "Look, I don't really know what's going on, but I'll work with you all to... figure whatever this is out."

    "What? Give who back? What are you talking about? Who are you? Where am I?" TAAron was on his feet, looking around in utter confusion.

    TAAron looked at her, confused. "What's going on? Where am I?" Lerac looked upon the scene, sighing heavily.

    "No, Haly." His voice fell to a near whisper. "I love you."

    TAAron smiled. "I had a suspicion. You can have it, friends." Malum left TAAron, and the scholar fell to his knees from the pain. "No," he said softly. "No. Haly?"

    TAAron looked momentarily confused. "What? No, I..." Slowly, as though fighting some force, TAAron stepped forward.
