    "That's good, then." He just smiled at her for a moment. Then it faltered. "Well, if you're not reliant on the connection anymore, I should try to use my abilities to figure out and help out with whatever's happening."

    "No. I love feeling close to you. Is it too much for you?"

    "What do you mean? Why wouldn't I be?"

    TAAron beamed at her. She could feel his happiness for her through the connection.

    TAAron turned to Haly. "What now?"

    TAAron squeezed her hand. "Yes, thank you. Are you feeling better?" "Yes, I think so. That was just a very unusual side effect. Usually it just hurts a lot."

    "Oh. That's what you wanted, right?" He seems to be almost himself again.

    "Did my healing do something? Yes, it did. I'm sure..."

    "Right. Okay." He seemed to be improving.

    "This is wrong. This isn't..." He shuddered.

    Lerac seemed to stir. "Things look... strange."

    TAAron have a relieved sigh.

    "I think he's taking on what you experienced. Part of healing you. Do you think he did it?"

    It seemed that Lerac wasn't able to respond. He seemed vacant and confused. TAAron realized that it reminded him of Haly's disposition when she had been lacking the connection.

    "That's unusual. But it could mean..." Lerac reached out and touched her arm. She felt a flood of warmth, and a feeling of restoration. TAAron felt it too, through their bond, and his eyes widened.

    "I don't know. Is there any particular reason you're wanting help with this right now?"
