    He was clearly rather tired. "What do you want?"

    The man lifted the pole slightly. It had scored the ground behind him. He dropped it, and it sunk into the ground with a crash, crushing the rock. He leaned against the pole, which was now stuck upright, looking amused.

    The man laughed. "I'm sure."

    Interesting. Feels like that would make this... convoluted. "What'd you ask of me on this quest?"

    After waiting for a moment and getting no response, the man kept waking, dragging the pole behind him with obvious effort.

    "...Why would I join a quest I know nothing about?" The man began to move again.

    He stopped for a moment, frowning. "What quest?"

    A man appeared, dragging behind him a metal pole, a meter long and around ten centimeters in diameter. It threw up sparks on the ground behind him as he dragged it. He wore simple worker's clothing, and looked rather tired.
