  1. TAAron was at the very least unconscious, but the blood flowing from the wound in his neck wasn't encouraging. There was a flash of red light above the water.
  2. Malum's form began to dissolve back into dark energy, pulsing with violet like lightning flashes. What a shame...
  3. It passed through him. Well, I suppose... It could be because I'm so often considered evil. With that, Malum slit TAAron's throat and let go of his body, letting it sink into the water below.
  4. Malum continued to smile with absolute glee. His eyes began to shine with violet light. You know, I never did answer your other question. Why did TAAron kill me?
  5. Well, I'm sure you'll consider it plenty, Tilaus.
  6. TAAron appeared very unfocused. Is that all?
  7. You didn't really answer my question. What, in an ideal world, would the relationship become?
  8. He didn't seem at all bothered by the comment. He might even have been amused. What would you hope for out of your relationship with him? You said that letting it continue might not be so bad.
  9. Is that so? What would you hope for?
  10. So that's all he is to you? An unfortunate coincidence? Wouldn't it be better if you were free from that burden?
  11. He did not do so. Why do you care? Is he really any more to you than any other man like him? He could still go mad, lose himself. It's happened before.
  12. I'm curious. Anyway, the longer you talk to me, the more time he gets. The glass dug into TAAron's neck, which began to bleed slightly.
  13. Malum smiled. It was disturbingly gleeful. What is he to you, Rue?
  14. Yes. Look, do you have any better reasons for me to keep him around?
  15. No, actually. It's very, very easy.
  16. Because he walked right into my hands, and now I can do it myself.
  17. He'll die quite soon, anyway, in terms of eternity. And I'll be honest, I'm angry. I want to be the one to drain his blood out for the last time.
  18. He pressed the glass against TAAron's neck. TAAron had gone very still. He seemed to be mouthing something. Run. Why shouldn't I?
  19. He helped kill me. I think I ought to return the favor.
