    "Agh... hopefully." The energy seemed to slow, then settle. When TAAron spoke again, his voice was not his own. Rue. Malum is dead. I will be also, shortly.

    "D-don't know." The light was more energetic than in normally seemed, emerging and swirling around him violently, crackling.

    He suddenly cried out, and fell to the ground. Red and violet light began to swirl around him.

    TAAron began to walk after her, but seemed to hesitate. He began to glow with his odd white light.

    "I'm sorry," he said again, more quietly. "If you choose not to try now, that's okay. I'll be here for you if you change your mind. I'm always here for you."

    "They don't have to. I promise, not all of them end in disaster, and nothing about you or the people you meet makes that a requirement."

    "Can you try one more time? I haven't shown myself to be a monster yet. If you're right, good for you, and you can blame me. But I don't want you to go through your life being afraid to trust or care or show emotion."

    "I swear it's true. I'm sorry you've been hurt too badly I'm the past to believe anyone can really care. But I do."

    "Hello, Rue..." he said softly. "How are you doing?"

    TAAron moved away from Luna, exhausted, and began wandering the hallways. He didn't want to be still, didn't want to think. The ordeal in the underworld has left him rattled, and it wasn't necessarily over yet. He felt like he was dangling over a precipice, held only by a strand. He didn't know what awaited him in the fall, but he dreaded it. Eventually, his wandering came to a halt at a certain door. Rue's room. How had he ended up back here? A strange coincidence, but not an unwelcome one. Hopefully she'd have calmed down by now. He could use a friend to talk to, or at the very least interact with. TAAron knocked.
