  2. Mae felt a wave of that strangeness that was becoming so familiar. It made the room around her seem oddly new and wrong, like the shape of it and the details were somehow not right, though it was impossible to pin down a specific difference. The sensation of it slightly disconnected her from herself, making her more present in the room, rather than being entrapped in the pain of her own body. Breathing felt just a little easier.

  4. Happy Birthday! I hope it's a good one.

Thank you! It's been a good morning and I'm excited for the rest of the day.

  5. "Yes," TAAron responded simply, putting on his best charming smile. "Visiting in Luthadel for a little while. The sights really are wonderful, aren't they?" @Edema Rue
  6. TAAron frowned. "No, I think I lost him."
  7. He knew she was gone. The warmth of her skin that she had left on his evaporated like any simple illusion. Her presence almost remained, but it was more of a faint impression left on the strange new energy that had found him.
  8. She looked back at him, expression warm despite the tears. "I know you can, together. You are remarkable, Daniel. I... I think you have yet to quite learn that." Julie's form destabilized, back into a vague specter. Her voice spoke once more, and somehow Daniel knew that its distance did not come from space, but from time. "Goodbye." Then she was gone.
  9. Julie grabbed his hand, keeping the knife down. "You do not deserve to die. You did not fail me. They much I know. I don't know what it's like after death, but I think you should do everything you can with your life while you have it. Keep going, for my sake if you must. Find... find someone else to love, and who will love you." She looked over at Rex, and released Daniel from her embrace. "Take care of him?" @Just-A-Stick
  10. "No!" Julie reached forward and knocked it out of his hand. She pulled him into an embrace. It felt very real. "Please don't. It's not your fault. If you need to know anything, know that I want you to live, and be happy."
  11. "I wanted to tell you something. Send a message. This isn't really what I expected." She looked around, before turning back to him. "I love you, Daniel. And I'm sorry it ended so soon. I don't know how or why it did, but I'm beyond thankful that I met you." Her tears flowed freely now.
  12. "Daniel." Her voice was clear now, and reflected her tearful expression. "I think I'm dying. Or... maybe I'm already dead. Time doesn't feel right somehow."
  13. The figure snapped into focus, and suddenly it was like Julie was standing there, looking at them. Her face was streaked with tears.
  14. The blurry figure proceeded to speak, faint and echoey. "Daniel. Tell- that I-"
  15. A sort of spectre appeared in front of them. They could barely make out Julie's features.
