Correct reasoning!! I was born in the state of California, but my parents and grandparents wanted me to be a Texas kid. So my grandmother came from out of state with a sealed test tube of Texas soil, and got permission to place it underneath the operating table. Hence the phrasing.

Pic took out his staves, looped them around his arms, hummed a marching beat, and took JM out of Aventine's hands. Stepping to the beat, he carried JM up the stairs to the room.

Pic jerks back awake, sitting up quickly and slamming his head into Aventine's. He hummed a really low note in response. "Gahhh, dissonance," he grumbles. He follows her downstairs. Pic opens the door.

That caused him to fall alseep faster and added a slight smile to his face.

Pic facepalmed. "He should have been able to get in," he hummed. He stood up, sat down on the bed, collapsed across it, and began to drift off again.

Pic's eyes snapped open as soon as Aventine stood up. He hummed a low tone, and slowly sat up.

Pic collapsed on the floor, and began to drift off to sleep.

He nodded from his seat by the wall. “Soon,” he hummed. “Though to make a long story short, I was becoming something that I couldn’t live with. Therefore, I left to find out what I wanted to give others.”

“And I was 14 when I left mine,” he hummed. “She has these feelings. We can’t get rid of them, but we can talk to her later.”

Pic frowned, and was ‘silent’ for a while. (Well, as silent as Pic can be). “Poor kid,” he finally said. “Good thing she’s here now.”

Pic hummed a few descending notes in response. Aventine realized this was Pic’s equivalent of a grunt of agreement or acknowledgment.

“Still awake?” He hummed softly.

It was at this point that Pic sneaked into the room. Thinking the two were asleep, he hummed quietly, and laid his coat down on the ground. He lay on his back, and stayed awake and listened for a while.
