  1. Cash looked at Phantump with evident surprise. "That was more than I expected," he said, walking over to take the key. "Well done!" he says with obvious excitement.
  2. Phantump tanked the hit, but Inkay was forced to pull away faster than normal thanks to its burn. “Good work, now use Hex!”
  3. Mistborn deckbuilder rules are out. I’m in them!!

  4. Phantump moved forward. “Alright, Will-O-Wisp!” Cash cried. The ghostly flames darted across the field and left dark, glowing singe marks on the Inkay.
  5. Cash looks at Phantump. “It’s your opponent,” he says, gesturing to the two people. Phantump hesitates for a moment, and then points confidently to the person on the right. Cash strolls in that direction. “Ready to show me what you’re made of?” He asks Phantump. She rolls her eyes, and a small, ghostly flame appears in her hand.
  6. Cash looked back at the Phantump, who immediately straightened up and attempted to look more fierce. ”She’s trying her best, y’all,” Cash replied. “Plus, this is her first battle under me,” Cash responded. Phantump looked indignant at these comments, and her ferocity became legitimate.
  7. “I’m assuming neither of you are telling me who has the key?” Cash called out.
  8. Cash strode with cautious confidence back into the Gym. He flashed his key, and continued moving up the floors. He entered the second floor, and released Phantump again. Impidimp sneered once again.
  9. Cash walked back to the Pokecenter, and headed both of his Pokémon. Both, he thought, That’s something I’m going to have to get used to. He let out Gremlin as soon as possible, and talked about releasing Phantump. When Phantump did come out, it was initially shocked and surprised. Soon though, it looked at Cash and cautiously approached him. “Hey buddy,” Cash said. “I know we kind of jumped you, but here is the deal. We need you to help complete a challenge in this town. I’ll feed you while you’re here, and then once it is done, if you want, I’ll release you back into the forest. Sound good?” Phantump hesitated for a minute, and then gave a sharp nod. “Then it’s settled,” Cash replied. His Impidimp gave a glowering look, and the Phantump wilted a bit. Phantump was placed back into a ball as Cash went over the Pokecenter report of Phantump’s available moves.
  10. Cash finds a thicket of trees, and notices that some of the stumps occasionally… move. He follows one of the bigger ones around for a while, and then nods at his Impidimp. A pulse of electricity strikes the stump, temporarily immobilizing it. A pokeball is thrown soon after, and it shakes one, twice, three times. “And I believe we have found our shield,” Cash states. His Impidimp smiles mischievously as they head back to the PokeCenter.
  11. Cash took the key and walked back out of the Gym, to the Pokémon Center, and healed Impidimp. Afterwards, he pulled Impidimp out of his poke-ball again. “Alright, I know this is gonna be hard to say, but I think we need a second Pokémon to win this.” Impidimp immediately began to protest. “I know, I know,” Cash responded, “But our typical strategy doesn’t work on these fools. We know Prankster is only as effective as your opponent is not. So we either need to get rid of your moves, or catch a new Pokémon, just for the time being.” The Impidimp calmed down a bit, but was clearly still ticked off. “Good. We are going to catch someone who can make you hit harder.” After that conversation, the two wandered to the town’s outskirts, looking for any signs of wild Pokémon scrounging through both natural and man-made debris.
  12. “Key,” Cash demanded, pulling out Impidimp’s Luxury Ball and retracting his Pokémon.
  13. “He’s gotta figure out what’s most helpful,” Pic replied.
  14. This Venoshock did obscene damage, and Impidimp was barely standing. “One more, Gremlin!” Cash shouted, causing Impidimp to unleash a dark pulse.
  15. “What he’s done for you, and how we can both help you recover,” Pic hummed.
  16. Cash frowned, “Repeat this one more time, Gremlin! Dark Pulse,” he said, as the Acid Spray hit Impidimp. Impidimp is able to tank without much effort.
  17. Cash nodded, and promptly turned around and walked out the door to the Pokémon center. After healing his Impidimp, he walked right back and chose the guy in the right.
  18. Cash ran a hand down his face. “Can I leave and come back and not fight you again? Pick up where I left off sort of deal?”
  19. Cash’s Impidimp looked a bit beat up, but smug. Its attitude was enough to make Cash smirk as well. “Do you have the key?” He called.
