  1. He offered his arm. - I’m tired of being stuck like this between two… mes. I don’t … I’m scared.
  2. “Good… that’s good. Come on. Let’s get some food.” - He worked his hand underneath the sandy ground, then pulled it out and watched the silt float in the water. I’m tired, Tam.
  3. I don’t wanna eat her Listening always helps i listen and I’m still single tho so good luck
  4. He regarded her with concern. “Are you sick?” - “Tam,” he pleaded. “I don’t want to be like this. I don’t want to see everything. I want to be dumb and be happy following you around. Please, I feel like I’m drowning in the universe.” “Why? I don’t trust him,” he snapped. “I’m not gonna lie. I don’t trust either of you. You have to earn that.” Bat stared at him for a moment. Of course. His problems weren’t important. Not to anyone but him. Tam just wanted him to be normal. The Authors wanted to push a plotline. “I need to think,” he muttered, standing, and stepped off the boat into the sea. He drifted down to the sand, curled up into a tiny little ball, and cried. Somehow, being small had never hurt so much.

  7. "Oh... you can go back to sleep then. I'll just be lonely." - "I don't know. Does anyone know? Does anyone care?" He looked down at his hands, then reached for her. "Make me dumb again. Tell me... I don't care. Make me dumb again." "But... there's people out there. Things to do." - "No, that's quite all right. It would have been interesting, though." "It's fine. I still don't trust you." I want chary!! "I know where."
  8. "Indeed." She stretched. "We should take the night to sleep here, and we can be off in the morning."
  9. Ian woke up and yawned. Then he sat up on his bench, feeling very anxious. Calm down. It's different here.
  10. “Yeah… you okay?” - “Guess not.” He sat down with a sigh. “Good for you.”
  11. “Cricket…” She reached out, almost touching the mirror. “This isn’t what I want. And… I don’t think it’s what you want, either.” - “Mmm,” she hummed approvingly. “Is it bad I was hoping for an explosion?” “Yeah. You were asleep.” - “You’re a good actor, you know. Or maybe your Author deserves the credit for that. So, so many layers. Layers everywhere you look…” he craned his head backward at the sky. “See that lightning? No? I didn’t think so. I could make you see it. I could make it real.” He locked eyes with her again. “The truth all comes down to whether your Author is like me.” Smart buddy Twelve nodded thoughtfully. Aw boo AW YAY HI
  12. “Okay. That’s a no. Come get some food with Five and I, then.” - He narrowed his eyes. “That would make sense. But it doesn’t. There’s no conceivable reason for you to care about me.” BYE BREAK OCER BYEEE
  13. I added too “You don’t even talk like us. We’re all bugs to you. Animals.”
  14. He sighed and resigned himself to boredom. “You just want me to tell you.” He didn’t fight her, but his face was hard. “I won’t. I’ll play your little Narrator game, because apparently you need me to. But you’ll get nothing out of me.” “Do you wanna go save some strangers with Twelve and a stranger?”
  15. “I… Cricket, I don’t understand.” - Symbol followed, stepping off. “That’s quite fascinating.” She tried Narrating a bird into the sky, just to see what would happen. He shook her, making a hasty retreat. - He pulled away. “No. Stop. You’re just playing with me.”
