    He set his jaw. “I’d really rather not disturb her, but I have other ways to reach her in… less polite ways. I need to speak with my daughter.” — “It’s not important.” Not to you, the back of her mind whispered bitterly. She quished the lil voice. “I believe you’re a Narrator!” Lady Bug informed her.

    A wave of shame and fear and darkness slammed into Beosta’s mind. She blinked hard, turning away. “Well, I don’t want to talk to him. How did he get here, anyway? Tell him to go away. Tell him to leave me alone.”

    Beosta whirled, then stared at Tam for several seconds before she managed to open her mouth. “My… my… what?”

    “Bring Beosta here, then. I need to speak with my daughter.”

    Beosta liked that. “Portalers? Why would they be chasing you?” The man scowled. “Just take me with you.” - She took a deep breath, readying her cross blade. “I think so. I guess we’ll see.” Lady Bug gave her a princess dress.

    “What does my dad look like? What kind of a question is that? He has my eyes, I guess? And… yeah, I wanna stay.”

    Laenor hesitated, then snapped back into character and gave the camera a big, cheesy smile. “Sandal for president!”

    Beosta felt offended and she wasn’t sure why.

    Beosta jumped when Tam teleported to her. “What?” She snapped, pulling out her cross blade. “We’re kind of under attack! Teleport us all somewhere or something!”

    “I…” Her TV persona faltered, her accent temporarily disappearing. “It’s nice here. But I am going back, right? I’m supposed to be on set today…”

    “Because I’m looking for my daughter,” he sighed. “Is this an interrogation?” Bat jumped, and Gaioh snickered at him for jumping.

    “I am looking for a Narrator,” he said firmly. Beosta opened her mouth to reassure him again, then closed it. She was probably just bothering him. Probably just part of the scenery. Just part of the adventure.

    “My name is Hidel Debonfield,” he said. “Narrator, please.” She shook her head. “Liberia controls that. She basically has to give me permission. I’m fine.”

    The man stepped closer once she was away from the others. “I need to speak with a Narrator.” “Oh, yeah. I’m fine.”
