    “Like you’d know,” he grumbled, then went to find some shelter. And maybe something to steal.

    “Tellin is not encouraged by your lack of stupidity,” the cat grumbled. The spirits swam in rings around each other, then huddled tightly. They bounced up to Shoe, and sent the impression of one word. Hi! Hi! Hihihi! Hi hi hi hi hi!

    “We’re going to the castle? That castle over there?” She paused. “Oh! I live there. Right?”

    “Yeah, duh. But money is important for a lot of those things!” He ducked, confused.

    “Ohh! Right.” She smiled and sat down in the grass to pick dandelions.

    It was covered in scratches that looked like symbols. The lid was lift- off. “Careful,” the cat warned. “Those symbols say not to open it.” Yeah… do they look bigger to you?

    He saw and rolled his eyes. “What? I need money.”

    He sighed. “I better get famous and rich.”

    Tellin curled up on his head. His black tail dangled, twitching against Silas’ face. Doors lined the corridors. The hallway Silas took ended in a dead end and a small stone altar. A box rested atop it. The souls had followed them into the water and now bobbed with the currents. They gave off faint impressions of a giggle.

    Haly and TAAron were dumped in the middle of a green, open, grassy field. Dandelions dotted it, along with a tiny blue flower of an unfamiliar species. Off to one side was a forest, and off to the other, Haly’s castle rose in the distance. Haly stood, rubbing her head absently. “It’s nice here. Very… uh… yeah, nice.
