  1. “Me too! That’s crazy! Let’s go do whatever it was you wanted to do!” “Aw, be nice.”
  2. No. I want them to escape by themselves. Character dev …just don’t tell Bat I said that
  3. “Aw. But you’ll die without water,” Lady Bug complained.
  4. Bat is going through some kind of trauma response right now so… Perhaps later
  5. Hm. DM me and tell me what you mean :3 He didn’t WANT to think.
  6. HEHEHEHEH I LOVE BAT HES MY LIL BABY
  7. I was under the impression that Ennullers could Ennull each other too, right? So the cuffs should work on Cricket too. Bat pressed his hands against his eyes, trying desperately not to cry. Stop being an idiot and do something useful. Break something. Do something. He curled up tighter and decided that was enough for now.
  8. “I’ll try,” he whispered. She took a shuddering breath, wiping away fresh tears on her cheeks. “I got out of the ropes when you left me in the jungle. I knew they were watching my location, and I thought they’d come for me soon, because the travel thing they gave me was moving without doing it itself— but they didn’t come for days, and when they did, it was just one. She was a woman I've never seen before or since— her, probably— and she fixed my tattoos, but… but it was wrong. There’s something in them that shouldn’t be. There’s something… something… everyone else is wrong. They’re acting strange. And I think I’m going crazy, and then she turned into me and locked me down here, and she turned half my hair to dust and told me to behave…” She whimpered and dropped her head back onto her knees. “Oh, gosh,” Bat whispered. They were all gonna die. THEY WERE ALL GONNA DIE. Those thoughts sent him into a panic attack. He curled up in the corner of the cell and covered his face with his hands.
  9. “I— I don’t know if I can,” he said helplessly, holding out his own cuffs. Rose raised her head again, eyes worried. “Bat, don’t. She’s a Narrator— I know that doesn’t mean anything to you right now, but it does when we’re down here. Don’t even try. She could rip this place apart if she really tried to, probably! She could… she could…” she shivered, eyes glazing. She leaned her head against the wall behind her. “Never mind. Try it. They’re not the same people anymore anyway.” Bat glanced between them, torn. “I…”
  10. “Tam?” He touched her shoulder, then hugged her. Rose dropped her head to her knees again.
  11. Rose vanished, leaving Tam to stumble, and appeared next to her. “As I don’t believe you understand the severity of the situation, I won’t kill anybody. Do that again, and you’ll see just what I can do.” She gently shoved Tam into the cell, then ushered everyone else in. “As for what’s happening, we’ll... I’m inexorable, darling.” She locked the cell and left. Bat sat down, staring at Rose and trying to figure out what happened. She made a face at him, and he jumped, clearing his throat. “Tam, uh… are you okay?”
  12. YES EXACTLY IM SOHAPPY WAHAHAHAHA
  13. They followed the sounds of the sobbing down the hall. There, in a rather large cell, was— Rose? Bat frowned, incredibly confused. Har hair was shorter, and she looked incredibly shabby, but… that was Rose. She looked up, eyes red from crying. “I hate you,” she seethed through clenched teeth. She wasn’t talking to Bat.
  14. She clapped the bracelets on, and did the same for Cricket @Ookla the Irreplaceable. Then she placed her hand on Bat’s shoulder and led everyone down to a literal dungeon. Bat hadn’t known they had a dungeon. He shivered.
  15. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I FEEL DIABOLICAL EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING NOW AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  16. “Quite frankly, I don’t care,” Rose informed them before Bat could reply. “He’ll be wearing these too. I don’t know what he does, but… oh, and Cricket, the Ennuller, too.” Bat wrapped his arms around himself. He was such an idiot. “Don’t blame yourself,” Rose told him, heaving his wrists and snapping on the bracers “There’s nothing you could have done. Hold out your arms, Tam, dear.”
  17. Rose gave her a smile to end all innocent smiles. She gestured them out the door and through the one across the hall. A small room lay beyond, with a large staircase cut into the stone sloping downward. Crying could be faintly heard, now. Rose picked up two slim black cuffs. “We debated about giving you tattoos, Miss Tam, but we’ve decided to save that for a disciplinary measure. Instead, you’ll be wearing these. They’ll activate the second they sense Narration and Ennull anything you might be hoping to do. Until then, they’ll be quite comfortable. I’d say fashionable, even.”
  18. HUNDERED PERCEHNT BEST OUT THERE
  19. Bat somehow did a mental squeak “Isn’t that wonderful?” The councilman asked. “Just imagine! All our enemies, reduced to little piles of ash.” Rose stepped forward. “Just imagine what I could do to Bat,” she said softly. “And with the Nullite in the air, you’re powerless here. Hands where I can see them. You’re all arrested.” Bat squeaked, audibly this time.
  20. “We found the champion,” the councilman declared. “I can see on your face what you’re thinking. Calm down, it’s not you.” Bat let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. That was good, at least. “So who—“ The table in front of him, Tam, and Cricket dissolved. He yelped, jumping to his feet and brushing black pieces of ash off his clothing. Rose stretched out her hand, and his chair dissolved as well. Then she smiled at him.
  21. There’s supposed to be a champion who will protect us from a really dangerous Narrator. We all thought it already happened, but… but I don’t think they think so anymore. Maybe there’s a reason they’re being nice to me. His head was reeling.
  22. Rose took up position standing next to the door. “You’ve heard the tales of the champion, yes?” The man asked Bat. “Yeah. Turning enemies into dust and stuff.” His eyes widened. “Wait, are you saying…”
  23. Yeah. Yeah. He hesitantly followed Rose back into the room.
  24. We don’t do trends
  25. “I don’t know!” He ran a hand through his hair. “I don’t know. Something’s wrong. Really wrong.” Rose poked her head out. “Bat, are you gonna explode something again? Calm down. This is kind of important.” He took a deep breath. There was the Rose he knew. Maybe nothing was wrong ajd he was just paranoid.
