    Rutherfus Etherford swaggered up to them, cane clacking on the floor beside him. His bedraggled beard nearly touched the collar of his jacket, which he wore over a bare, hairy chest. "Whatchall doin? Looking at dead varmints?" He cackled like this was the funniest thing in the world.

    "Do you? Feel better about yourself?" -- "Tam, you can't just---!" Bat shared his exact feelings. Though maybe with a note more panic. "I know! I know. But he'll be ready for a Narrator! He--- Tam, you can't just rush into something like this!" She was almost too eager. That scared him... a lot.

    Barry sighed in relief and retrieved Thaddeus and Apple from deeper in the crack.

    “Oh. Thanks.” He took a bite. “Yeah, I couldn’t find any.” “So… you’re feeling… better, now?” “Of course. I suppose we shall see.” Bat smiled. “I actually haven’t used them much.” “Moment?”
