  1. Junior detected a ship on his radar. No. He had to do this. He had to win. Razor was watching him, with that smug face of his. "You want me to pay off my debt?" Junior scoffed. I'll pay it back. Pay it all back. With blood. His father was watching him, barely even recognizing the person Olviere had become. His mother- who he had killed! He had murdered! Yes! Yes, he had! And he would scream it to the skies if anyone asked him to. Yes. I killed my mother- his mother was watching him. The monster she was. His mother was alive and well, hissing and enjoying herself with that pompous look in her eyes. He would win if only to kill her again. Some people just can't survive. It's a battle of the fittest. And if Junior couldn't live through a simple battle, then perhaps he didn't deserve to survive on this world anyway. His brother was watching him, tracking him, looking at his location and planning ways to get to him. Planning ways to ask for money, for ships, for a bail! Thinking his younger brother, his scrawny, hurt, weak younger brother would testify. No, his brother would stay in jail as long as Junior was alive. But there was only one who Junior cared about. Razor. Sure, he had raised him. He had made him into everything he was. And he said so. But he also gave Junior his scars. "Screw it all, I'm proving something to these scoundrels," Junior muttered. He located the next ship in the airspace. [ ...TARGET || PROCESSING... ] @Ookla the Erased
  2. He heard a whisper through the doorway from inside of the room. "Cedric," she hesitated, "I hope you didn't kill that man." She hesitated once more. "And I hope you aren't drinking any more alcohol."
  3. "I need not explain myself. I do not know this man. My only hope is that you don't plan to do something stupid that you will regret, sir. Heavens knows what you may do. I used to think you were above this." Mae curtsied slightly and hurriedly walked off inside, assisted by her handmaiden and another maid.
  4. "Cedric!" Mae exclaimed from the door way. "I swear to the sky if you lay a hand on this man-." She called for her handmaiden.
  5. "Cedric." Mae said harshly under her breath, placing her hands urgently on his arm holding the gun. "Be sensible. At least hire an assassin, will you? And to think I was off telling this man murder was above you! You're a gentleman, Cedric. Act the part."
  6. Mae heard this, and smiled bitterly at Envoy. "I'm afraid our time has expired, sir. I'll be leaving now, though I don't assume this will be our last encounter. Until we meet again, Envoy," she said quietly, before turning and quickly running away through the gate and towards the manor. She had to hold her dress up to run, revealing marks on her lower legs. @Ookla the Abstract
  7. "Oh, don't hand me the blame. The world's strange enough without people like you wandering about. Where is your world, then, if not in London's society?"
  8. "And how much would you need? What could you need it for?"
  9. "Do you have wealth to your name, Envoy?"
  10. "Somehow, I don't believe you. Where were you born?"
  11. "What's your power?" Her voice dropped into almost a whisper.
  12. "Sir, if I may ask a question?"
  13. "Of course," she smiled, "Envoy, wasn't it?" She held out her gloved hand. "It was a pleasure to meet you, sir."
  14. "One could say that. Well, I wish you the best in your endeavors. Many seek to harm in this place."
  15. "I collected as much. Who do you work for?"
  16. "How valiant. Are you working with anyone?"
  17. "If marrying him means that he, instead of I, will bring harm to myself, then so be it. Harm is lurking about everywhere in this world. Some people find it. Some people search for it. Some people inflict it. Whatever the reason, it is everywhere. And with him, I know that his jealousy will keep anyone else from harming me. It is only he who could ever do so. If he didn't, I would."
  18. "I appreciate your concern, Envoy, but I'm afraid it's of no use to you. I will get married to this man. In this life, at least, I must. But fear not. We all won't survive long enough to begin to imagine eternity. In fact, I'd be surprised if I'm even married by the time we all die. Fear not. It is a short time. I will have my fun. You will have yours. This man will be too drunk to understand what is happening, caught up in the haze of it all."
