  1. 498b. This doesn't applies if you live in the absolute least interesting place in the world. Because the protagonist is likely to be from your village, which will make the bad guys come and kill everyone (except the protagonist's best friends/relatives, who are take hostages and are sent in a torture room) 498c. Avoid big cities too, as they are prone to devastating events such as battles, sieges, occupation or Death Star test. Go to an unremarkable town, but not so unremarkable that it becomes remarkable.
  2. Thank you! Absolutely true
  3. You know you are a Sanderfan when you dream of the title and cover reveal of Stormlight 5. And that a release date in early 2024 is announced at the same time. And that you wake up hyped as ever. If anyone's interested, the cover depicted (SA5 spoilers?) I don't remember what the title was, but it was cool. (I think; in a dream, I would find anything really cool as a title.)
  4. I drink some milk almost every morning, I think it would be considered "a lot". TBPM is really hot at the moment.
  5. Granted. You have lots of free time now, so would you do for me all that work I'm supposed to do? And do the same thing for him? And for her? And for them? And for everyone you know? Also, you don't have toes now. I wish to be able to enter inside the books I read (like, whenever I read Stormlight I can warp myself in Roshar)
  6. Thanks! Glad to see there are other Discworldians here!
  7. Thanks! For my favorite character... I'm going to say Kaladin (I know, not that original, but everyone loves him for a reason). Honorable mentions for Dalinar, Szeth, Hoid, Kelsier, Sazed and Vin too. Vin would have even claimed that #1 spot at some point
  8. 490. Whatever legends or prophecies about the apocalypse there is in your world, assume they are entirely true, if maybe a bit distorted by time. Because not only they are but they will happen during your lifetime. So listen to the storyteller carefully, in case the legends tell the secret weakness of the soldiers of evil. You can also begin stockpiling food right now I guess. And listen everything that weird scarred guy in the village inn is saying about surviving in the wild. 491. When you hear a noise behind you, don't turn around slowly. Either turn back quickly, ready to fight whatever it is, or run away as fast as you can.
  9. Some of these might have already been sent, but I'll send them anyway "Wisdom comes from experience. Experience often comes from a lack of wisdom." Terry Pratchett "It will [get worse], but then it will get better. Then it will get worse again. Then better. This is life, and I will not lie by saying every day will be sunshine. But there will be sunshine, and that is a very different thing to say. I promise you: you will be warm again." Brandon Sanderson
  10. I began to read WoT about 2 years ago, at a friend's recommendation. I really enjoyed it but all along I was worried about the end because I knew it was written by another author and even though everyone on the Internet loved the last books, I was still afraid it would not be satisfying. Then I reach the Gathering Storm. And my craziest expectations are blown out of the water bc it's just great. Immediately, I rush to check what else that Sanderson guy has written outside of WoT, I hear about a thing called the Cosmere, try to find more information, and stumble on a site called Coppermind. After quite a time of wandering on it, I realize two things: 1)I should not have read that much pages, there are spoilers everywhere 2)I want to read everything set in this universe. A few weeks later, I get to the library, and find a copy of Emperor's Soul. I take it, read it, and make it read to my entire family. A few months later, I had read all of the published Cosmere books except White Sand
  11. Hello everyone! I've been a Sanderson fan for a bit more than a year now, so I decided to join in (after lurking for... longer than I would admit) I have read all Cosmere (except White Sand, the SP excerpts and the SA5 prologue) but nothing noncosmere yet. Other than Brandon, my favourites would be Discworld and Wheel of Time. WoT was how I discovered Brandon in the first place
