  1. Small note, Hoid is there, just "frozen in time". He's the coatrack, poor guy.
  2. The Shard is Virtuosity, not Virtue - Virtuosity means being especially skilled in the arts. I mentioned this on another post, I believe Painter and Yumi are on different planets in the same system. They're definitely in the Physical Realm, given the scene with Design.
  3. I literally came to this conclusion a few moments ago too. I think it's certain that Painter and Yumi are on different planets in the same system, and when they swap places, they're transporting via the Cognitive Realm.
  4. Ah, I think I misunderstood your original post. We're on the same page now. The only problem with your theory, which is a good one, is that Painter's people have used telescopes to see their neighboring planet and can tell it's inhabited. If they were looking at Taldain, the light from the star would totally wash out the visibility of Taldain (the planet). So I think it's more likely that Painter's "star" is another planet in the same system.
  5. Your questions are somewhat answered later in the excerpt. The "star" in Painter's sky is actually another planet. Also, Taldain is the sole planet of its system. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe all of the secret projects take place on new worlds. My confusion is, Painter lives in perpetual darkness but Yumi has a day-night cycle. I'm not sure how that's possible unless Painter lives at one of the poles. I initially thought that Painter lives in the Cognitive Realm while Yumi lives in the Physical Realm, but
  6. I've always imagined myself as being a researcher at Silverlight. Late-stage Cosmere gets into the sci-fi realm, and this opens up some very interesting possibilities. -How difficult is it to Awaken non-biological materials with very simple commands? Could I Command dichloromethane to "not boil" and run reactions at extremely high temperatures? -Does Stoneshaping (or the Surge of Strong Axial Interconnection) allow for manipulation of atomic nuclei, or just the interactions between atoms? Could you do single-molecule chemistry with this Surge? This could allow for the easy creation and development of very small transistors. On those lines, could an Elantrian with Stoneshaping create complex Aon equations at very tiny scales? -Can the lichen that grows on White Sand, be grown on other materials and Invest them (see my question vis a vis DCM above)? I could also see myself playing around with different alloys of Godmetals and figuring out what they do. I wonder if there's a way to have a nonliving entity "burn" a metal so you could see what the effect is without endangering anyone.
