    Hmm, then I don't have a particular preference either way. So long as it has good characters, I am happy And I also like charming, sociopathic, genius, anti-hero characters. Any recommendations? Generally high fantasy, but it runs a larger risk of clichés.

    Light fantasy, because if the characters are miserable I get unhappy too. I do like Six of Crows though, my idea of dark fantasy is more Joe Abercrombie.
