  1. Edit to say that I am not talking specifically about the godking here, but anyone with the 10th heightening. It is a common belief that being a fullborn is one of the most powerful things that a person can become besides holding a shard. I just finished Warbreaker, and I don't think this is true. Someone with the 10th heightening should be stronger. I am going to use a weird example to explain how I think about it. A fullborn is like superman. Fullborn gives you the ability of flight, super strength, super sight (and other senses), and regeneration. Not only that, but they get other powers like time manipulation. Someone with the 10th heightening is like batman. Basically unlimited resources and the only thing stopping them is their imagination. You can influence your mind with awakening, so I bet that you would also be able to influence your body to some degree. You could also just awaken metal in a similar fashion to how Vasher awakens cloth. With enough time to prepare, there really isn't anything (besides a shard and mabye a unchained bondsmith. I only mentioned unchained bondsmith because I have head canon that bondsmiths could break the connection established by awakeners and the objects they awaken). Batman always beats superman with enough time even though superman is unstoppable. Some ideas to how someone with the 10th heightening could beat a fullborn is a lot. Stuff like nightblood is an obvious example (though nightblood is a bad example because it is unique). But any insta destroy stuff will be incredibly useful. You can't suffocate a fullborn, but you could awaken a magnet and pull metal minds off of the fullborn. You could awaken non metal objects to cut off the fullborns head (sharp plastic). A lifeless army would be very useful. A sword that can cut through metal would be great. There are so many possible aventues to go down that I think that someone with the 10th heightening should be able to beat a fullborn with enough time.
  2. So Odium was trapped on Braize by Honor somehow. I think that Honor manipulated Odium into breaking a contract. The question then becomes what the contract is. I wonder if Honor manipulates Odium into realizing that he did not have correct justification for killing other shards. He used the reasoning of their not involvement with each other pact to initially justify his killing of devotion and dominion. Then he kills Ambition for unknown reasons. If someone was basically able to convince him that he did not have the right to kill those shards, Odium's power would be greatly weakened in that moment. It would also explain why he is so loosely connected to the shard in RoW. He has already broken an oath, and suffered the consequences for it. It would also explain why he basically complains to Dalinar about the whole oath system. R-Odium just wants to do what he wants with no possible repercussions. The contract could have been something along the lines of "we can fight if it is an honorable duel and if you have acted honorable in the past". Then Honor points out that Odium does not have the right to kill any shard ever, and Odium instantly losses. Odium would agree because he does know that Honor knows about the death of the other shards, and Honor would be the unique place to define what is honorable. It would be very hard to argue what honorable is to the literal god of Honor. All Honor would have to do for this would be to convince the Odium that he should not have involved himself or that he didn't have the right to kill them after Odium tries to claim that he has acted "honorably". Odium is placed under Honor's power, and Honor seals him to Braize. I guess that he would still be able to influence the world around him, and mabye the singers are especially vulnerable to the influence of shards. He may have also worked to corrupt things, and started manipulating from afar. The theory kinda falls apart after you start thinking about Odium's influence while trapped, but I still think that Honor could have easily trapped Odium by pointing out that Odium is not acting "honorably". Honor would be a unique situation to do this, and Odium may not have expected it since he is very arrogant. (edited because I forgot to say something)
  3. Honor trapped Odium on Braize. How did Honor manage to do this? Did Honor manipulate Odium into breaking a pact, and making Odium weaker? Or did Odium actually agree to get stuck on the planet.
  4. What happens when someone tries to hold investiture in shadesmar? For some reason, I can not remember anyone holding investiture in shadesmar in any of the stormlight books (but this may be because I am stupid).
  5. Lol thanks I guess. Sanderson has done it again.
  6. So in Oathbringer we know that the dustbringers are kinda evil and working for Taravangian. I read RoW and I don't remember them being a big part. I feel like they would be useful as a spy order of radiants. Or did Dalinar just throw them to the side because they were associated with Taravangian.
  7. This is a really interesting idea. I wonder if the spren could not control this. I don't remember exactly where this is said, but I remember someone talking about how spren were influenced by human thoughts. Mabye the "betrayal" of the spren was more them changing as humans arrived. It was an natural process because people are so open with their emotions and such. Spren were not created by Honor or Cultivation, so they wouldn't know this would happen. The singers would feel betrayed by their gods and turn to Odium. You bring up two really interesting points here. The first one that I want to bring up is that the spren's leaving of the singers. The emotional spren would have obviously left for humans because they show more emotions, but the spren that represent ideals (honor spren, ink spren, etc.) had the ability to choose. My theory is that the spren that represent ideals never liked the singers. They worked with them because emotional spren worked with them. The singers could get a weaker version of surges from emotion spren. We can see that a bunch of wind spren can stop high storm winds. Mabye all of the emotional spren (when a lot of them are gathered) could influence the surges. The spren that represent ideals would play along and basically allow this manipulation of the surges to happen. Then the emotional spren left, and the spren that represent ideals decided to not give singers bonds to return them the surges. This is at least my theory. The second idea that would be really interesting is what the singers did after they were betrayed. I cannot think of anything that they could have done. Mabye it was something with siding with Odium or mabye they started to mass kill humans. War form singers would be unstoppable for normal humans with no shards. But the singers had to do something really bad. This is kinda out of left field, but mabye the singers did something to create the unmade. They corrupted some spren for odium and then all intelligence spren turned away from them. This would explain why the betrayal was so large because these were important spren. This would also support the idea the singers did something to make the unmade. Odium influenced them to corrupt the spren somehow., and they then spren left them fully. I don't know if I fully agree with what I said above but it is a possibility. I am just trying to think of what the singers could do that would get that reaction. Hopefully we will find out later.
  8. It would be really interesting if Lirin ever bonded a spren, but I don't think he would want to. Lirin would not be able to bond any other spren because they may inflict with his surgeon oaths. Any of the oaths could force him to hurt someone if it needed to happen, and I don't think that Lirin would ever take that risk. There could be radiants that are not warriors, but in the current era of radiants, they will be pushed to be a warrior. They just need more radiants on the battle field, so Lirin would be worried if he had to hurt someone. So Lirin would never take a spren.
  9. Thank you for the infomation.
  10. Hello, I wanted to talk about the use of connection across the cosmere and its possible uses if ever have a worldhopper that could could use connection like a bondsmith. First of all, they would have access to every power on sel. Very ironically though, they wouldn't be able to use the power on Sel because intent is also super big. A more interesting one is when we look at places like Scadrial. With connection, would someone be able to move hemalugry spikes without having to worry about spikes. They would be able to "bond" that piece of someone's soul to another's soul. This means that you could use a spike to tear off someone's soul and then use connection to perfectly meld it with another's soul. This could be a work around to Harmony controlling someone with too many spikes. I have not finished warbreaker (I am about 1/7 the way through it. Liking it so far, but I want some action). But with the small knowledge I have about breaths, I wonder if you could do something similar with breaths were you permanently bond breaths to someone. This would make it impossible for people to give breaths and would nerf a lot of the breath users because they couldn't put their breath into other things. It would be permanently stuck to them.
  11. This is more of a two sided question because I don't really understand how savants works. I know that they mistings start to develop the ability to use their metal better. I always thought this was because they changed their soul (which change their body) to better use the metal. This can't really be seen with a lot of metals, but pewter and tin mistings permanently change their body when they become savants. The first part of my question is: is that how savantism actually works or am I misunderstanding it? A question on the expansion of that topic is it possibility for Hemalurists using savantism. This is because they have access to the power while they have the spike. Could they become a savant in the metal? and then if they became a savant, does the savantism leave with the spike or does the stay with the person?
  12. This is my first post here, so hello. I have had this theory for a while, and I think it is definitely out there but possible. My theory is that Taravangian takes up honor instead of Kaladin and becomes War. I know that sounds bad without evidence, so let me explain. I think that Dalinar will still recombine honor. He will try to take honor, but realize that he would change his soul. There is that specific part of the agreement with Odium where he cannot change his soul or become something new. If Dalinar takes honor, then he will break the deal, and T-Odium will be able to do whatever he wants. Dalinar is already suspicious of being outmaneuvered, so I don't think he will take the shard. A much better candidate would be Kaladin, but I hope it isn't Kal. The man has gone through enough, and honestly, I don't think it would be best for him to take the shard. If he takes the shard after swearing the 5th ideal for windrunners, it makes that ideal feel pointless. If he doesn't swear the 5th ideal, it would also be very stupid. If either one of them refuse it, it would go to the next person of great honor; Taravangian. I think that I first need to remind everyone that Taravangian is honorable. It is a twisted version of honor, but it is definelty honor. Taravangian felt the need to tell Dalinar about the assassin he sent to kill Dalinar even though he knew that it was not the best idea. Taravangian also stayed with Odium (even though it makes me angry) which is honorable. He could have switched sides again, but Taravangian stuck with Odium. Then there are the discussions between Taravangian and Dalinar which show that Taravangian has honor just different than Dalinar's honor. Taravangian is honorable. I think the bigger question if Taravangian takes honor is the nature of the shard and the previous vessel (Tanavast). If Tanavast did not have a sense of honor similar to Dalinar, the shard be inclined to be taken by Taravangian. We do not know much about Tanavast other than the fact that he bought Hoid a drink once. I think that Tanavast is going to be similar to Taravangian which is why, bondsmiths (the order closest to Honor in my opinion) are never really meant to be kings. They are meant to do the morally questionable things that have a good end goal. Ishar was the reason that they had to leave Ashyn, and he is not the greatest man. The windrunner was. This is really a tangent and another theory but I also think that the 5th ideal of the windrunner is going to be another limitation on protection. Mabye along the lines of, people have to accept the protection for themselves because Kaladin always forces people to accept his protection. Tangent aside, bondsmiths are not very honorable. I think that this theory makes the most sense if you take a step back and look at the bigger picture. We have already had a conclusion where a good guy claimed a shard. We have already had an ending where a good guy combined two shards. Sazed technically is the most powerful being in the cosmere rn. It would make sense if Sanderson made a threat that could fight Sazed equally (if Sazed did not have really weird intent which limits his actions). Sanderson can make War be Taravangian, and then allow Taravangian shift back to his anti-hero sort of role instead of the BBEG. It would also explain what is causing Sazed so much problems in Mistborn Era 2. Autonomy and War fighting Sazed would be very hard for Sazed to fight. This is a very stupid theory, but what do you guys think of it?
