First of all, that reason is a very good one but something you really should not mention in an application or an interview. It might be interpreted as "I'm looking for something easy to relax". You should probably give reasons such as "lifelong dream" or such. But I guess that's something you already do. Another thing that might be worth trying is offering to do some sort of unpaid test week. Sort of like an unpaid intership, you'll need to be able to afford that of course but this way, even if nothing comes of it, you'll be able to list it as job experience in the next application. And you might be able to just ask the intended boss if this would be something to he/she'd like to better see your qualifications. Again there is not much I can do to help other than listening. The job market is tough, even more so in the US than in Germany where it's mostly easy to get testwork. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to get the job you wish for!

Hmmm... plenty of sun is a bit hard to imagine. Depends on the trees, I spontaneously thought of a forrest since this would account for the "no strong weather" part and in a dense forrest the sunlight is somewhat rare, but maybe I just got a wrong picture in my head. Otherwise, farming and lifestock would just be adapted to the trees. Like farming mushrooms that grow on the side of the trees or bigger squirrels that can be milked or whatever... Also, all this might not be important for the story in itself but it might be things the protagonist encounters and it might give a rounder picture of the world. As for the size of the creatures and the defenses. Just ask yourself how big a stone or something comparable would have to be for you to change your way. Also, there could be other imaginable defenses that do not need physical applications. Meaning sound or smell "traps" but that would depend on the creatures and their own reasons for picking a path (the people do not necessarily need a deeper understanding of the creatures for some things to work).

Susebron? That's a hard one. Still loving it, but it's hard. Take the first clue. That could mean anything between "This character was a prisoner" to "This character is/was marries", including "This character has a bond". And, sadly, if the last clue means "This character is from Taldain", I'm out. I have yet to read White Sands since the prices for in-demand comics are to rich for my taste and there is already a collected edition on the horizon.
