  1. Yeah the other T stands for tactics. In a nutshell it's kinda like a RTS with the resource gathering removed. Also, there's a lot more strategy involved in RTS games than it may seem on the surface. While you do need to be able to click fast in order to play at the highest levels, knowing when and where to click is far more important. Whenever I play a RTS I have an idea of how I want my production facilities and my army to look at endgame, so I then develop a strategy to get me there. It's not the same as chess or go, but that doesn't mean it lacks strategy.
  2. Shallan has latent radiant abilities however, so this could play a role in it. Also, it could be that she actually created the shardblade via another means, but she believes it was made as a result of her killing her father. Also, if you think about the theme of the rediscovery of magic that Brandon is trying to include, someone is going to rediscover how to make shardblades. If Shallan did make hers, then she would provide a great starting point. As for it simply being a "forgotten" shardblade, that's a possibility, but just owning a shardblade is a great symbol of prestige and even those who hide theirs (king of Jah Keved) still can't suppress the rumors. Although her family was no more than backwater nobility, her father's rising position must have put them under a much greater deal of scrutiny and rumors would get out (plus letting rumors out is sometimes beneficial if you need more clout). I haven't convinced myself regarding this, but I don't think that we can rule out Shallan making her shardblade.
  3. Just a crazy thought, but what if Shallan created the shardblade when she killed her father? With something as valuable as a shardblade, it seems only logical that people would keep track of them, yet Shallan has one and nobody seems to know this. Some people have speculated that it is really the shardblade that the ghostbloods want back, but given the actions of the ghostbloods, it doesn't seem likely that they would put a shardblade in the hands of Shallan's father. If I recall (I don't have my copy with me so I can't check this), she describes her shardblade as a "fruit." This seems to be more in line with her having created it, not her having acquired it. Also if she did create it by killing her father, this might explain why Syl dislikes shardblades.
  4. I think Stormlight would be better suited to be a RTT game not a RTS game, at least with the details we have now.
  5. Shallan's memories always struck me as a form of surgebinding. Her memories are mental pictures where she fixes some image in her mind that she can access later. Considering that Brandon has stated that there are parallels between magic systems, this seems like it would make a nice parallel to copperminds.
  6. The tides might be more complicated, but my impression was that the moons were equidistantly spaced in the same orbit, which would make the tide fluctuate more quickly, but not be more complex.
  7. I posted this on stormblessed a while ago and after looking at the table, it seems to fit well. http://www.stormblessed.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=310 Some additional reasoning behind this: Worldsingers seem to have some uncanny parallels to Terris Keepers (as well as another group in Liar). Since Brandon has stated that there are parallels in his magic systems, it seems that this may be one of those parallels. Furthermore, considering what the Worldsingers do, wise is a very fitting characteristic.
  8. I'd love one of these
  9. Well considering that it's House Yomen, I'd say that's a pretty good guess. Yomen clung to his belief in the Lord Ruler's divinity even after Vin killed him. Also, Brandon needs to apologize for that cliffhanger ending. I really hate cliffhangers
  10. Did he? (I couldn't seem to find it in HoA though it does ring a bell). Also, would TenSoon regain his old memories after his spikes are reinserted?
  11. So apparently there's going to be several characters reappearing in the later trilogies. Marsh is a very likely candidate and Sazed is a possibility too, but besides those two (and Hoid of course) I'm not really sure who else could live for that long. Any guesses? source: http://fantasy-faction.com/2011/brandon-sanderson-interview (about 3 mins in in part 2)
  12. Are Shallan's "memories" a form of surgebinding? Are the Worldsingers an order of Radiants?
  13. I could have sworn that Brandon gave an explanation for this already, but I can't remember where I saw it.
