Long Game 98: A Tale of Mists and Metals
JNV replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Jorrick watched as their home and livelihood was first burned then drowned into nothing. Some very nice tools were in that shop. Truly unfortunate. Still, they were alive, and they had created every tool in that shop. Nothing that was gone could not be remade. There would be more towns and more people. At least they had made the right choice in the end, even if it had come to nothing. Ok so Im happy I was right about Archer over Drake even if it didnt do anything anyway this was fun Im honestly kinda just happy I managed to stay at usual engagement with the RP requirement um the rave PM was great and murderpuppies deserve all the trust forever definitely -

Jorrick stepped forward. They were hesitant and deeply uncertain, and they hadn't even had time to review the minutes. Life was abruptly turning against them, it seemed, and they likely would not have chance to return before the sun set. "I vote Rem. If this dooms us, then so be it." -

Jorrick stepped forward. "As one of Onon's 'personal confidants' I can verify that he's telling the truth, unfortunately, and while Onon was a bit misleading in the analysis, he was just as torn between suspecting Rem and you as he appeared. Perhaps even more so." -
Welp sorry guys my bad I guess anyway great job Illwei never would have suspected you and from a quick skim of the dead doc neither did them so yeah gold star honestly I feel like I should just predict that whatever my first impulse is is just wrong like all the time that might get me better results but anyway this was fun I had a good time

It was pretty alright honestly no cavities good health all victories for me Anyway it looks like the fate of the village is in my hands no pressure right haha um Illwei you still have your vote manip charge right the other two dont I assume youre using it honestly Im kinda tempted to just like force a tie and winnow but like Id be the first on the chopping block and then its Raven deciding the fate of the village and the same situation so anyway the reason I said hm maybe Matrim earlier is cause Illwei did have a good point about me soloing like Ive never done that who knows if Id keep up my trend maybe its the collusion that drives activity and Matrim not even questioning it and just hopping on Illwei as thoughits a done deal kind of felt like I dont know it felt weird but vibes arent a reason to decide the fate of the game so Im going to look at past cycles Ack the shard update abbreviates post counts now there goes my way of separating mentions from actual posts with control F this is the worst Matrim C1 first post calls Kas not reading rules a null thing second post banter third post apparent joke vote Aeoryi fourth post complaining about Aeoryi self voting which honestly fair fifth vote more Aeoryi talk sixth post thinks Aeoryi is mixed vibes trusts nothing thinks evrything has been fluff seventh post thinks Aeoryis evil hm this Aeoryi progression was quick eighth post pro Novel ninth post banter tenth post retroactively justifying Aeoryi case eleventh post defensive response to Aeoryis defense twelfth post if dead look in the actives C2 first post calls voting Aeoryi one of their apparent top suspicions off a waste second post apparently started reading Aeoryi village but didnt mention it third post talking about me fourth post would vote Stick over Illwei fifth post agrees with Kass Stick case sixth post comments was wrong about parity winning seventh post voting Stick And todays posts which hm I mean my instinctual read of their pitch tom e after the Illwei vote feels like fearmongering but like I get it if theyre village Illwei C1 first post Kas village second post banter thid post banter fourth post want to ote Aeoryi fifth post OOG stuff sixth post argues against self voting and wants to vote Matrim seventh post question eight post wants to vote Matrim ninth post banter enth post banter eleventh post still banter twelfth asks about Aeoryi thirteenth post banter fourteenth post questions fifteenth post votes Matrim sixteenth post banter seventeenth what if we tied eighteenth definitions and questions ninteenth question twentieth banter honestly my conclusion just from this cycle is I hve no idea how to read this person C2 first post assumes Aeoryi doubled second post oh third post suspects Raven fourth post Aeoryis dead fifth post Ravens village sixth post response to Raven seventh post Ravens village but willing to vote in Stick Kas eighth post Stick response ninth post maybe tie tenth post ties good eleventh post votes Stick twelfth post teams weird if Stick evil thirteenth post we lose sadness And this cycle Ive already said why I like their thoughts anyway to sum it up I like Illweis tie efforts I dont like Matrims inconsistent reads and cases and honestly my analsys is only ever a tool to justify my mistakes to me so Matrim and if that loses it then well shucks guess you shouldnt have left the game deciding decisions to me yes I will be doubling that and Illwei probably will too
-
Hi so um guess theres only one evil so all the team thoughts we had earlier were useless and yeah Ravens not solo um Ive got to go to the dentist right about now so I just want to say I think its Matrim but Ill do a reread when I get back and hopefully make an actual case bye

Jorrick sighed. "I too just want them both dead at this point, but if forced to take a stance, I would say Sono. I will be fairly busy for the rest of today and may not be able to return before end of day. Please notify me if some cataclysm happens and needs my presence."- 421 replies

Well like my brain kinda immediately tossed Raven out the window so then its like Matrim with Stick or Illwei the two people who voted them and forced them to pop their double charge like it wouldntve been hard to just vote elsewhere get the easy misvote C1 and coordinate double votes the next time like that just seems easier
-
I stared at the player list for a bit and my brain said its definitely a Stick Illwei team and I asked my brain for any justification for this and well I trsut you and Ravens kind of helter skelter new player panic and then like if I narrow that then like Matrim teams dont cohere I mean I guess Im kinda letting Raven off the hook here and theres always the possibility Matrim and unknown other just like planned to make Matrim look alone and sad so that might come back to bite me but yeah theres my thoughts
-
Hi Im here um honestly not sure what even to talk about without the flurry of random poke votes at the start anyway I kinda want to vote Aeoryi in protest but I wont cause it feels a bit mean Scums the Mafia Unverse term for elims so a scumread is an elimread

Long Game 98: A Tale of Mists and Metals

Jorrick poked their head out of their shop, then slowly stepped outside. As nothing catastrophic occurred to force them back within its confines, they began the walk to the square. "I apologize for my absence, everyone. I found myself with little to say and a backlog of woodworking orders." They quickly reviewed the minutes of the previous day. Thank goodness for those scribes who so dutifully took the minutes, even notating actions and personal notes. There was the expected flurry of early accusations. A fixation on that fellow with the absurdly long name early on, the reasoning which Jorrick couldn't discern. The only reason they really remembered Sono at all were the useful vote tallies they kept reading out every once in a while. Very helpful. Ah. A claim, Lurcher with a single vial. Tragically useless, then. Their conclusion from the minutes was that any outcome other than the one where both of them lived would have been preferable, and that both of them looked quite unfortunate in the aftermath. However, such behavior was not out of character for Rem. "This is a mess. I'm going back to my shop. Everyone is welcome to contact me privately, but I don't have much to say." -

Jorrick smiled to themself as Sirta's treachery was revealed. It was always good to see their craftsmanship put to use, no matter how gristly that use was. There was likely only one Spiked remaining or Sirta would have surely survived. Violet and Scarlet were the most connected to Sirta, but Scarlet had still been speaking passionately at sunset, and if she too was Spiked, then surely that time could have been used to save Sirta. Violet, on the other hand, had been entirely absent as the night drew close and now seemed to be absent entirely. In their place was a strange Lord. Copper's Bend was far too small for a Lordship to have lived there or even to warrant return, and Mayor Arwhin had led the town for longer than Jorrick's residency. Of the rest of them, Karis and Wendawa argued fervently for Sirta's guilt, and Revir and Dasenk were likewise present at sunset. Jorrick didn't want to cut wood before measuring, but things seemed quite straightforward. Perhaps too straightforward. Or maybe they were overthinking it. -

JNV replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Jorrick returned to the hustle and bustle of the main area of the town square. It seemed that there were accusations flying, but they didn't have a good understanding about who was in the lead. They made a list to better capture the state of things. Well, that was unfortunate. They were quickly reaching the twilight of the day, and there was no consensus to be found. Jorrick stepped forward. "I see that there are a great many opinions and thoughts around Sirta, both accusations and strange defenses. However, I find my eye drawn towards someone who has stood on the sidelines. Dasenk @Ravenclawjedi42, this remark in particular gives me pause." "You persist on Revir, a mere thief who has said little and someone who you yourself are uncertain about, despite acknowledging suspicion of Scarlet, Sirta, and Violet, some of the main points of contention. You strive for agreeability, not even stating certainty about a trust, while avoiding making any opinions that could be controversial. Furthermore, Revir is new in town, and courtesy demands that we give them a day to find their footing before accusing them of any crimes, even murder." Jorrick pulled something out of his pocket. "Also, tensions seem to be high. Everyone, look at this wooden quokka and let it take all of your anger away." -

Long Game 98: A Tale of Mists and Metals
JNV replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Jorrick moved their door back and forth slowly, listening to the hinges creak. Under ordinary circumstances, they would put some oil in there to stop the annoying screeching every time they entered or exited their home. Under these circumstances... It certainly couldn't hurt to have an extra warning system, especially when metal shipments had run dry. Couldn't rely on your neighbor to protect you when they were hoarding their metals for their own life, and couldn't blame them either. Mists knew Jorrick was doing the same with high-quality wood. Ah. They had missed the start of the mayor's announcement while staring at their door. They rushed off to the town square, arriving just in time to see Mayor Arwhin leaving. A shame. They'd wanted to discuss the details of the mayor's new rocking chair after the old one fell victim to The Incident. Still, they should probably discuss the unfortunate matter with the rest of the townsfolk. Somehow, despite living in this town for many years, they could barely put any name to a face. Or was it face to a name? Regardless, all they could see was a mob of people shouting things at each other. Revir was whispering with Scarlet, which had been outlawed recently after a series of tragic and hilarious misunderstandings stemming from the use of whispering resulted in The Incident. They should take care to avoid such behavior lest the mayor take action. The rest of them... The town featured many eccentric people, which was good for business but bad for identifying what behavior was a product of eccentricity and what behavior was a product of the dread power of Ruin. So many of these people could be playing up their personalities to make otherwise noteworthy behavior seem ordinary. They cleared their throat and stepped forward. "Listen, we'll never get anything done with all this racket. If anyone wishes to speak privately, I'd be happy to do so. Or if anyone wants to buy some woodwork. Business stops for nothing, as I'm sure the fellow with the pie cart can understand. By the way, I was not at the construction site, Sirta. I am a craftsman and an artisan, not a common laborer, and you would do well to remember that considering how many times I've had to fix the counter at the tavern after you emphatically stab it with a knife." -

Jorrick brushed the last of the wood shavings off of the chair leg they were working on. It was exactly the right height to balance out the rest of the chair, though the rest of its legs would probably go the way of the new leg's predecessor soon. It was an old chair but a good chair, and with the new leg, it would hopefully be better at not collapsing when someone sat down heavily in a moment of emotional turmoil. Incidents like that one made them glad they lived alone. Maybe the new leg would even be strong enough to not crack when thrown at the wall, though Jorrick doubted it. Wood was durable, but it certainly wasn't immortal, and this new leg would likely fare no better than its predecessor when faced with a solid object at great speed. Truly dreadful things were happening in this town. On the plus side, their carpentry business was picking up a little. So many people wanted stronger doors. -

Jenel held a sword in their hand with some amount of trepidation. Not a Shardblade, they weren't nearly far enough along for that, but a sword. They'd held swords before, but it was one thing to hold a sword and quite another to use it. Quite another thing to become someone capable of using it. There was almost a block in their mind against the idea of becoming a warrior. Because they weren't. They were a scholar in the quiet confines of their mind, and there was still a part of them that was... discomfited. But they had chosen this. They had chosen to come forward with their Oaths instead of standing aside. And maybe that was the trick of it in the end. Choice. The sword was lighter than they'd thought it would be. Or maybe they were stronger. It balanced well in the hand and swung easily through the air. Jenel breathed, in and out in a slow and steady rhythm. Then they began a simple kata, movement like water as they flowed from one stance to the next. It felt strange, and they could feel their sword wavering as they moved, but at the same time, it felt right. -

Hi honestly Im still suspicious of Archer um Ive read the thread but my brains not catching the Raven case so Ill reread again and honestly Im kinda just posting for RP and vote mech benefits right now but Ill ask forgiveness with this cute quokka picture Jenel sat near the cold earth where a corpse had been laid out hours before. Somehow, the threat had not seemed real until how. Just paranoia, precautions taken just in case. But now, a knight had been killed by the spies that lingered in their midst. A knight they had known, though not well. A knight they had broken bread beside. A knight they hadn't known the name of until they heard someone shouting it at the sight of the corpse. It wasn't the first time they'd seen a corpse. They weren't a child, and life was hard. But it was the first time they'd seen deliberate death of another person. They had not been to battle. They had not truly seen war. But that was why they were here. To learn through experience what could not be learned through words. They stood up then and began walking over to the rest of them. They could not live without knowing the lives around them, not if they wanted to do this right. They would listen well, and hopefully, good thoughts would follow. Perhaps they weren't suited for this, but disposition was inconsequential. There is only choice, and those who fail to make them. -

Heres my third RP post and Im formally checking out of thread good night everyone Im just going to eat my chouta Jenel took a deep breath and watched the chaos. Now that they'd finally caught up on everything, they felt significantly less obligation to enter what was quickly becoming a death spiral of accusations. No, they would just sit, observe, and eat some chouta. It was a nice night when you didn't pay attention to the clanking of armor from knights furiously pacing back and forth. A cool breeze and the stars shining overhead. It was the almost sort of night where you could think good things would await you on the morrow. Almost. With the discussion still going, there would be no peaceful reflection. Just suspicion and distrustful expressions as people tucked daggers beneath their pillows. There would be no peace for quite some time. At least they had chouta. It was very good and fresh enough to not be soggy yet. This variety had both meatballs and small cremling claws, and the seasoning was rich. They almost wanted to savor it, though they knew from experience that waiting too long would make the delicious fried bread a wet mess that could tear and let the meat fall through. There would always be more chouta. But still, the urge to make it last was there. -

Ok were going for the reread cause honestly my brains like picture of empty glass or something like nothings there Page 1 Raven RP Aeoryi banter Matrim banter Devotary talks about arranging the second place vote Archer says arranging the vote loses out on vote movements and not doing so means we help our suspects Experience banter Aeoryi ties bad because vote manip Ash RP Aeoryi banter Raven second place planning bad Ash banter Archer makes assumption about Aeoryis knowledge about exclusively negation vote manip and asks about earlier statements Raven responds to Archers question with second place bad because vote manip but plays both sides by acknowledging how other way also bad Kas banter and RP Matrim first instinct use second place vote and thinks Experience post evil Aeoryi ties bad because role loss and unpredictability from vote manip so please no vote manip also consolidate if we really want to use the second place so its not vulnerable to manip also consolidate on me sadness Kas reads list and reasoning notes weird POV from Archer and Aeoryi on ties Aeoryi banter Kas banter Aeoryi banter Kas banter Matrim banter Aeoryi banter Archer advocate for scattershot voting ties not quite as bad as Aeoryi says because elims in tie choose between supsicios vote manip or loss of power Page 1 thoughts um ok honestly I expected Id have more thoughts anyway I think Aeoryis going in the bucket with Novel as Ive got no idea what goes on in their brain and me not feeling great about them is a non indicator cause like even in Szeths LG my evil game like I didnt feel like I could trust them so who even knows at htis point Ill figure them out later um my brains retruning weirdness on Matrims post about Experiences post but might be hindsight bias if anything I feel weirder about Archer but they just claimed so I guess their stance becomes more consistent with that as a framework maybe hm Ill look at it later Ive spent half an hour on one page and were rapidly on our way to a seventh so yeah moving on Page 2 Me parking a vote on Experience cause I kinda thought Id just be gone rest of cycle Stink banter Raven PMs one on one Araris banter Aeoryi banter Archer lots of peole have said inactivity and apparently gets Aeoryis perspective on ties and second palce as excusable for new player but not from Matrim Aeoryi points out the status update votes Matirm on Archers supicion with apparently sahllow reasoning Archer honestly Ive got no idea what Archers saying here about what I said about my Experience vote hm is just shorthand for like raised eyebrow and closer look with more m meaning more sus if that makes esnse votes Ash no reasoning Aeoryi ask about Ash vote Ash wants to think about second place after we see how the vote manip turns out Matrim wants to avoid bad situation of caught between supsects so one dies and the other gets promoted which is just bad all around unless you catch the V E split perfectly and even then no guarantees from the outside sorta thing also supports roleless ties over death which is honestly weird to me but might just be cause I disagree also disagrees with Archer but I guess this conflcit makes more sense from the post Windrunner reveal like of course Archer wants to keep their options open and all that yadda yadda yadda also about my vote yeah it was jumping on something too easy cause I usually odnt end up voting C1 cause I dip and forget but voting has mech benefits here so yeah points out Aeoryi weirdness Aeoryi accidentally splits post something about vote manip and continuing thoughts that never end up continued so yeah dont know about that advocates for Experience as the person who knew about the status updates so wouldnt say real connection Wit sidebar your name is cool keep it up end sidebar um just sorta exists Matrim refutes Aeoryis question Aeoryi questions Matrim was snubbed Aeoryi tries to force anlaysis into RP and doesnt do it well sidebar if youre going to do that you should sub player names with RP names otherwise its kinda not RP at all end sidebar Matrim criticces the RP analysis and like its unclear so yeah Aeoryi says bad phrasing Devotary good to have vote buffer if asking villagers to hold on vote manip but no accountability for vote manip also not killing with the exe is bad Aeoryi makes unrealistic claim about what ideal people will be on and supports vote murder Devotary consolidation bad when so early cause stifiles discussion Wit exists Aeoryi pings everyone with questions hey by the way if youre questions arent targeted could be ood to just say general question but I do get theres a certain onus of obligation whne pinged about something specific Page 2thoughts honestly Im feeling fine about Matrim but htat could be cause I agree with them ab it ok future JNV here there was like a big chunk of this paragraph that seems to have disappeared and I dont remember what it said so um yeah Page 3 Raven thinks villagers shouldnt vote batner Kas banter Matrim annoyance Archer vote Aman Matrim vote Aman Aman defends self Aeoryi jumps on a wagon for no reason you know what Ill paragraph break this hey @Aeoryi its ok to hop on someone elses wagon but its good to fact check first tunneli s a weird phrase to use and like doesnt feel like normal like are you just aying that ot bulk up your thing cause like if you dont have anything just say that but like doesnt feel like normal when youve already said your agianst meta reads when youve voted on both of the people youre voting with like its pretty obvious youre just hopping on the shiniest train Ok back to where we were Aman banter Archer disregards the later case made by aman Aeoryi hops on Raven after getting pushback Kas banter Aeoryi banter Aman response Aeoryi banter Kas thoughts Wit pops in with an Aman vote Anyway hi I caught up its a miracle Im satyaing on Archer I think all the Aman votes are poorly founded and kinda wierd I think @ΨιτιsτηεΒέsτ should vote Archer with me cause I was able to @ them haha but no seriously Im strongly against the Aman vote and will keep pushing against it um yeah I think thats that Ill get an RP post in before cycle close but Im going to post this now before there are any more dang posts -

Oh um I didnt see their status updates and idnt think to check I kinda just wanted to park on someone I wouldnt feel bad about voting in case I just forgot to come back before cycle end but now I would feel bad so Experience I guess Ok look I got a flu shot the other day and like fully anticipated sleeping for two days like that is fully in character for me so I just wanted to park my vote on someone who like visibly was present and not effortful like if Novel was playing that would be my type of vote if you know what I mean I didnt really have a read on them but I didnt see their status updates and all that and ack on that front in general so yeah anyway Im going to read the like full day I missed please hold On hte tie front like hm I guess the only front wed want ties on are if were trying to level up those ones who get Ideals from saving people from the vote and level up with second most votes at the same time but hm as I type this out Im kinda realising thats a bad idea too subject to unverifyiable stuff so never mind ties bad Um my brain is kinda grinding away but not doing anything so Im going to vote on Archer for I guess just not seeming like their regular village self like theres no gambits theres no dramatic ploys like Id expect Archer to be the sorta guy to be suggesting ties to buff Windrunners or something like that but like the alarms arent sounding which sounds the alarms if you know what I mean I found this great picture thats definitely a quokka swearing an ideal so this is me in spirit or maybe Jenel is secretly three quokkas in a trenchcoat who knows Ok now RP Jenel woke up on the rough ground to the setting sun. Had they really slept the whole day away? How strange. No one had retrieved them for the convocation, but then again, there was no one they would expect to retrieve them. They still struggled with knowing all of the other Knights' names, and they had made little effort to fraternize. Fortunately, there was a scribe who was writing a transcript for the benefit of the Blackthorn, and she didn't mind if they read over her shoulder. Still, they would have to be better. If they did nothing to contribute to the cause, they were little better than the Infiltrators. They had been chosen by their spren for their mind. This is not, their spren said from where she lurked in their shadow. I chose you. Logically, they knew this. Still, there is little of the self that is not the mind. They would have to find it. The next person stood up to speak, and Jenel turned their attention away from introspection. Their musings would get them nowhere if they all died to the spies in their midst. They could have a crisis after all this was over.
