  2. true... BUT I REMEMBERED RUBIX WHO HASN'T POSTED IN YEARS!!!! Win win to me.
  3. wow. I forgot Kaymyth and Voidus. That should've been impossible.
  4. Let's see... Not in order: Chaos, FirstRainbowRose, Jofwu, Ene, Argent, Rasaar, Windrunner, maybe Wyndlerunner (can't remember if they're a mod), cheyyene sedai, Paleo, GatorGirl, LadyLameness, WeiryWriter, Rubix... *scratches head* I feel like there's another head admin that I missed and a handful of mods...
  5. Yeah, cause I aint gonna name any of the keepers or arcanists. Except for the mad lad, Taln. That guy is just plain awesome.. I wonder how he's doing...
  6. I suddenly feel very, very, very old.

Ninjago seasons four and five were released eight years ago. I remember that. Eight years agoEight years. Like what-

Ninjago started 12 years ago. I wasn't watching it then, but like, HOW????

Am I the only one who thinks that season 6 was and still is a masterpiece, despite having not seen it in years?

  7. just the moderators, admins and head admins?
  8. Taxlin stood, nodding, "I suggest extermination and termination of the remaining participants so as to remove any loose ends. If any sort of thing happened from those who serve you, it could reflect badly on you and others. It is, of course, my job to make sure that does not happen." His voice made this words sound completely reasonable, perfect and the right way to Madam President. It was akin to when a parent tells a child that chocolate tastes good, the child tries it, loves it, then gives it to their dog.
  9. A man in a silky suit walked over, his hair almost as slick as the suit itself with a hat worn like a crown above it. He smiled in a way that seemed to bode ill for any who got on the wrong side of him, yet his movements said that he was subservient to the Madam President. "Yes?" he asked, bowing deeply before Madam President. "I await your commands." The man was a one Mr. Taxlin, a detestable human being. One couldn't fault him, however. After all, the only way to advance in a world run by detestable people was to be detestable yourself. And, even, more detestable than all the others. And so Mr Taxlin was detestable, horrible and abhorrent. It came with its perks. Waiting for Madam President's word, he adjusted his blood red tie ever so slightly. It was a habit of his. Some thought it was because he was nervous. It wasn't, not really. It hadn't been in a long time. He only still did it so that people blinded themselves with the falsehood so as to not see his true meanings.
  10. Darkness sat there for a long time deep in thought. Nameless was an interesting individual... A plan formed in Darkness' mind... Yes, this would work out well... He downed the rest of the scotch, ending what had seemed eternal. It seemed to be a theme... Good. Perhaps he would get a motif eventually too. And Darkness stood, walking to a guard, "We have work to do. I need you to get me Mythos." The guard nodded, descending down the stairs. Darkness almost smiled, but held himself back. No, he could not get into that habit. Perhaps it was time to do what he hadn't done in a very long time... Suddenly, Darkness announced to a room filling with servants and guards, "An oracular ritual will commence tonight in the seeing tower!" Code. It meant what it was on the surface, but it also meant something drastically different. A few key servants nodded, leaving instantly. Soon. Soon Darkness would have all he needed for the coming confrontation... Soon...
  11. Sneak peak of something I'm working on that I'll post whenever I finish it and can edit a lil bit.

    Spoiler

When people imagine nothing, they imagine black.

They imagine it and think “Wow, nothing must be dark and dreary.”

    They’re wrong.

Black is the presence of too much. It isn’t nothing, it is everything. So what is the lack? What is the color of nothing?

White. Pure, serene, empty white. The kind of white that people have never actually seen. The kind of white that glows. It’s serene, peaceful, and altogether… boring.

Yet to those who live there, as most of those who inhabit nothing are, in fact, nothing themselves, nothing is nothing short of perfect.

But what if both black and white are something and "nothing" is something we can't imagine?

To imagine nothing is to make it something, so any attempt to describe it is, in fact, impossible.

As a writer who is fond of poetry and backwards philosophy, I try to do it anyways.

I really love it so far! The cool philosophical poetic writing is my favorite! Good job!

  12. Dalinar or Kelsier is what I'm hoping for the December box. Kelsier, though, would work well with "Always another secret."
  13. I love it. It isn't perfect, but that's the point, I guess. I have some, hopefully, constructive criticisms, though, that can hopefully help. I won't address what you've already put up there, but I'll be putting a few good things. The movements are unnatural and all of them go back into a certain pose every now and then. The shot where the camera goes up needs to be a bit smoother when it goes back down, instead of nothing to ease the transition. E X P R E S S I O N S. I mean this in the best way possible, they just need to have a little more emotion in their face in my opinion. This is more a nitpick than anything, but I think that Dalinar needs to smile more when he talks to Kaladin. Dalinar isn't as tall as I and a bunch of people, I know, have pictured. Their voices need a little work to sound more human. The lighting, especially on their faces, needs a little work. This is not to say this isn't actually really good. I loved how Dalinar looks as a whole. I like the shard plate. The shattered plains looks great. Kaladin is just phenomenal, his voice is a wonderful part of this clip. It just, like any good artistic work, needs some work to reach it's full potential! I wish you luck in continuing this project!!
  14. Chaos is a bit more forgiving, imo, than some of the mods I've talked too... *sigh* Though, definitely not more terrifying than the others.
  15. A hypocrite is a man in the process of changing.

The most important words a man can say are "I will do better."

A journey will have pain and failure. It is not only the steps forward that we must accept. It is the stumbles. The trials. The knowledge that we will fail. That we will hurt those around us.
But if we stop, if we accept the person we are when we fail, the journey ends. That failure becomes our destination.

I will take responsibility for what I have done. If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man.

It cannot be a journey if it doesn’t have a beginning.

What is the greatest step a man can take?

    Always the next step, Dalinar.

(this is a long one, but I hope you take the time to read it.)

The above quotes are from the book, Oathbringer. It is the third novel in the stormlight archive.

It is, as I have said several times, is, probably, my favorite book by Brandon Sanderson. One of my most favorite books, actually.

There are many, many, many reasons for this.

But there is one that dwarfs all the others.

    Dalinar's arc.

In as non spoilers as I can get while still talking about it, Dalinar is a character who did something horrible in his past. Oathbringer is the culmination of coming to face all the things that he's done, the people he's been, the choices he's made, the people he's wronged, the responsibilities he has, the responsibilities he's cast off and the lives he's forcibly taken.

Oathbringer shows him facing that and overcoming who he was.

Now I will enter into spoilers.

    "You cannot have my pain..."

    "You cannot have my choices."

Dalinar's story was and is becoming more and more deeply personal to me.

I can't explain it in the way it is, exactly. But I can try.

I have been dealing with, for three or so years, a kind of poison. A plague that wracks me as Dalinar's memories, his addictions and more wracked him. That freedom he saw and I could tangibly feel at my fingertips at the end of Oathbringer... It's a freedom I have desired and have, for a good while, taken hold of. Freedom from the guilt of it all, from the hoplessness, from the repeated circle of falling...

That freedom hasn't stayed for longer than about half a year.

Again and again, Dalinar tried. Again and again, I have tried.

want desperately to do the right thing, to be the right person, to say the right things, to become who I've seen myself become but retreat from it, who I know I can become.

But why is it so hard? Why does it retreat inevitably?

Never give away your agency, never give away the right to think what you want, never give away your freedom. It may feel like you're being held back by other people, but it is not true chains, holding you back from what you truly want. Once it's in your head, it can control you, it can take hold of your thoughts, pave a pathway in your brain so that it is so storming hard to turn away from it all.

It'll come in and take you, trying to make it so it feels like it's a default. If you stopped thinking, you would do it. It makes you shut off your thoughts and makes you do it anyways.

Some of you probably know what I'm talking about at this point. You might be typing up some sort of support thing about it. I thank you, but I also want to say that I would rather not have what it is directly advertised to those who don't know.

Now, back to what I was talking about-

For those of you stuck in a similar cycle as me, for those of you who feel as if you cannot do the right thing, no matter what you do, no matter what you try, I want you to remember something for me, something that's helped me on the darkest days, even when I've given in too, even when it's hopeless and that I can never change.

Change takes time. True change will take, most likely, at least half a year. You'll crash down, you'll do the thing again. It's inevitable. I would be surprised if it stopped immediately. It'll seem like you're stuck in an endless loop, but you're not. It's not hopeless. There will always be possible movement. It's slow, I know, but you'll gain momentum slowly. Every time you fall, the best thing is to get up, wash your scrapes, and say "Well, I did that. It's time to do better." That's all it takes. And, someday, it'll work. Someday, it'll be done. Someday you'll be doing your thing and it'll come into your mind to do it.

And you'll look it right in the face and say: "No. Not any more. I'm done."

The desire will still come, it'll still be hard, but it will be easier. It'll become more bearable.

It won't ever, truly, be easy, but life never is.

In the end, as Dalinar said, "In my painful experience, [saying no and changing] may be simple, but it is rarely easy."

Never stop trying. Even if it is trying to try in the first place.

There is a path to a brighter and a little easier future.

    Life before death.

    Strength before weakness.

    Journey before destination.

These are wise words, striving men quote 'em.

Don't be surprised guys cause Brandon wrote 'em.

Wit is right. This is incredible writing and you are an incredible person!

You can do this! And you will have all the help you could ever need.

  16. I have had past a dozen pms with mods... four or five of them at this point... maybe six... yeah, don't be like me, kids.
  17. Sometimes, yes... TPBM is trying to figure out how to life.
  18. WHERE ARE YOU??????
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  19. ik, ik, I posted two hours ago-

But I was watching a video and had a funny thought.

Does anyone else think that Ryan Reynolds must be paid money every time he says the F word in a public appearance? Because... why else would he say it at least twice in every video, every appearance, every interview, etc.?

Then it might just be a Ryan Reynolds thing.

I don't know that there's anything unfortunate about it. Those words have their uses and places, and the way they are used differs on person and location. As long as you aren't using them to harm anyone, I don't see it as a big deal. Though of course to some it might be more uncomfortable and it's good to be conscious of that.

I do that tbh. Not on here because of the swear filter and because some Sharders are uncomfortable with it, but IRL I'm quite sweary.
