  1. There's something about writing something down on a page, either with a keyboard or a pen, that brings magic.

It has been said that the pen is mightier than the sword.

    I agree.

    Words shape reality.

People are inspired by what they read, for good or for worse. These books which we love are what shape nations, these books are what influence people into choosing good or bad. Books give positive role models, books give the view of someone overcoming enormous challenges, books show what a lot of us oft need in this life.

    Hope.

Books, writing, gives us hope. Because, if that person, if that character can overcome that challenge, than scud well we can too. That's why the relatable character is so, so, so, so popular. If Kaladin can learn to live with his depression and many issues, then we can too. If Raoden can keep going with hope in a distinctly hopeless situation, we can too. If Edmond Dantes can find his place in the world after dealing with people hurting him, then we can too. If Horace can defeat his bullies, we can too. If Dalinar can reconcile his past wrongs with who he is now, then we storming well can too.

All I'm saying is that we need to remember, sometimes, that the point of these glorious books we hold, these glorious books we adore, isn't to have an awesome plot, not always. It isn't always about dragons and magic and over coming odds. They're about hope. They're about overcoming obstacles. They're about showing us that if this relatable person can accomplish an amazing feat, then we can too.

Words are powerful. Yet, hope is more powerful. So, as we read these books we adore, remember that they're there to remind us that there is such a thing as hope.

"There is no such thing as a hopeless situation. Every single circumstances of your life can change."

"No accomplishment has substance nearly as great as the road used to achieve it. We are not creatures of destinations. It is the journey that shapes us. Our callused feet, our backs strong from carrying the weight of our travels, our eyes open with the fresh delight of experiences lived."

"Belief isn't simply a thing for fair times and bright days...What is belief - what is faith - if you don't continue in it after failure?...Anyone can believe in someone, or something that always succeeds...But failure...ah, now, that is hard to believe in, certainly and truly. Difficult enough to have value. Sometimes we just have to wait long enough...then we find out why exactly it was that we kept believing."

    And...

"Somehow, we'll find it. The balance between whom we wish to be and whom we need to be. But for now, we simply have to be satisfied with who we are."

I hope y'all have an amazing day,

    From your good friend,

    Thaidakar the Storming Ghostblood.
