    Thanks! The attitude was midnight!Szeth’s fault. Plus: I forgot to mention in the OP that constructive criticism is very much encouraged. If you’ve got anything negative to say about the story (even “I didn’t like it”), by all means, say it! It’s very much a rough draft right now, apart from a few minor grammatical edits here and there. Plus plus: If you somehow missed the tags and glaring “1” at the top of the chapter, this is the beginning of a much longer story. All of these characters are being set up for a reason, except maybe some of them who are just there. Plus plus plus: The post title is the two titles that I’ve narrowed this story down to. I think I’m leaning towards the second, but it sounds kind of forgettable.

    Dreams are the best way to get ideas for things. I have at least two on hold, one for a story that I don't feel motivated to write, and one for a video game that I can't make because I don't have the required skills to do that yet.

    I maintain my opinion that math and ELA should be electives, at least at the high school level. You don't need to know the quadratic formula to be a functioning human being.
