Mid Range 50: The Northern Wind II
Szeth Pancakes replied to DeTess's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I’m going to vote Illwei right now for the reasons I mentioned in C2. This could definitely change once I get a better read on... basically anyone else, but I think for now, Illwei is the most suspicious. -

Long Game 76: At the Forests of Madness

I guess this is probably a good time - I would also like to claim Surveyor. I dug up a Hidden Transcript back in D1, and used it N1. The conversation it revealed was nothing revealing - it was two people talking about how one of them said they weren’t going to PM very much (I’m assuming that was Quinn) and the other one was saying that they sure had a lot of PM’s despite that statement. There was a line about how telling Archer to tell Gears to make a PM with the first person “didn’t count.” Can I have confirmation from @Quintessential or her correspondent please?- 892 replies

...Doesn't the Forbidden Idol render you insane? We would know if you went insane, because it would prove you innocent. I know my vote doesn't count, but... Books.- 892 replies

@Archer Do you want to coordinate votes? I think that would be useful for a coordinated village effort. also I don't want to be misexed- 892 replies

Why Quinn? Remember that she rather aggressively pursued an Araris lynch D1. She could have been bussing, but I think Books is a better option for now.- 892 replies

Well, I trust Azmine because both you and him can't be elim at once. Elim!you wouldn't have any incentive to lie about this, so the only possibilities are that both of you are elim, elim!Azmine is lying, which you said is unlikely, and again, elim!you wouldn't have reason to lie about this, or that elim!you is telling the truth.- 892 replies

This list feels problematic. Why? Because Mat wrote himself off as village. You need to consider yourself as a possibility if you're going to do an analysis like this - otherwise, you can't convince everyone else that this is correct. PLUS, Ash is not confirmed vil. It's likely, sure, but he was one of the people who knew of the crossbow holder's identity. (Now that I mention is, so was Mat). Sure, that could have been leaked through some lucky PM spying, but it's worth considering. Here's a more concrete list, based on public facts. Player list: Szeth, Archer, Ash, Quinn, Books, Jon, Azmine, Mat Confirmed Village: Archer Very likely Village: Jon Likely Village: Ash, Azmine Remaining: Mat, Szeth, Quinn, Books One elim in here: Quinn, Books Mat, Szeth, and either Quinn or Books (the one that's not Danforth) could be elim #4. If all else fails, we should consider Ash and Azmine seriously. Plus, there could only be 3 elims - meaning that the only one left is Danforth. Maybe think about that possibility before you hastily vote me out.- 892 replies

“We didn’t get as much info?” We now know that I am not Danforth! So, either Quinn or Books is. My mind is telling me to go for Books because of Quinn’s D1 pursuit of an Araris vote, but my gut is telling me that Quinn was bussing, and to vote out Quinn. It doesn’t really matter what I think, since I’m insane, but I thought I would share some of my opinions.- 892 replies

Heh Oops sorry :/ For some reason my fingers want to type “he” when referring to you. I tried to fix it as much as possible, but apparently I missed one. These are some good points, but I think you’re arguing against the wrong point. The Doctor is important not because they are giving someone else a chance to speak, but because they are buying the villagers time to figure out who the elims are. One person revived means one more turn that the villagers have to vote out the elims. Again, arguing against the wrong point here. I’m not saying the way the opinion was presented doesn’t matter - it does weaken the strength of my argument, but it doesn’t invalidate it. What I’m saying is that regardless of how the opinion is presented, the suspiciousness of the opinion itself should be taken into account. Also, I wanted to say that I’m only sussing Illwei here because there’s no better option. Currently, I don’t have an elim read on anybody else. -
just a poll I decided to make out of boredom. I read at about 100pph (not sure how many wpm that is).

This is true, but offness could also mean agent-ness, or something along those lines. Perhaps the right term isn't offness, but non-vil-ness, or something along those lines. -

@Matrim's Dice Much of your defense seems to be about how blatant Illwei is being about some of their suspicious opinions. I think that this is a good point, as elims are generally more careful about what they say, but the fact that the opinions weren't presented in a very elim way doesn't invalidate the suspiciousness of the opinions in the first place. Plus, most of my arguments (other than point 2) concern not the elim-ness of Illwei, but the off-ness of Illwei. They aren't doing many things I would say are elim, but they are acting very strange. Also, what is your read on Illwei? -
Yes. Yes. No, yes, and yes.

Mid Range 50: The Northern Wind II
Szeth Pancakes replied to DeTess's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alright, so for the first time today I have something to say. Firstly, I am sticking with Illwei for my vote. This is because there's a lot of evidence against Illwei, especially considering that we're only one and a half turns into the game. Here's a rundown: 1. Tone This one's fairly simple. Illwei's tone feels very abrasive in this game, especially after Fourth/Sart and I caught on to some suspicious things they were doing earlier in C1. Since I'm new to SE, I haven't been able to pick up on very many indicators of how their tone usually is, but in LG76, where he was a Villager, it seemed quite a bit more pleasant than it does right now. 2. "Doctors aren't that important" This feels so, so elim to me. Why? Because elims would have lots to gain from the Doctor not reviving people. This would give us (the Villagers) one more turn to get closer to the truth and vote out the elims. As for it "not being a good trade" for the Doctor, this is blatantly untrue. Unless you're completely selfish and don't want to sacrifice one turn of your own time to give everyone else an extra turn, this is most definitely a good trade. I believe they were saying this because they wanted to plant that seed in any and all Villager Doctors that they shouldn't sacrifice their turn for the greater good. This post has a bit more reasoning in it, but it completely ignores the fact that time is the most valuable thing a vil can have (thinly veiled SA reference ). Someone going to the hospital and reviving one person, even if they're killed again the next turn, would be a complete nuisance to the elims. It would mean the villagers gaining a turn to figure out the elims, and the elims losing a turn and having to kill the same person again the next turn. 3. Tani's question This all seems okay to me (Contrary to Fourth/Sart's opinion, I don't think Illwei was dancing around the question at all) except for the last part. Remember that the Agent cannot win with the Villagers. We (the Villagers) need to stop the Agent from "improving" ship parts AND root out all the elims. In short, if the Agent wins, we lose. Illwei saying otherwise feels extremely contrary to what a Villager would act like. In fact, I'm not entirely sure what Illwei is acting like here. This struck me as extremely odd. 4. This post: At the start of this post, Illwei "throws a vote on" Experience. Then, they go on to specify some people they're suspicious of, none of them being Experience. They aren't being consistent, and that's automatically suspicious. Also, they call me and Tani out for not making a "significant vote" and TUO out for not being consistent about his vote. Both are things that they are currently guilty of. Conclusion Illwei is the most sussest. *ahem* Apologies. Please do consider what I have said about Illwei carefully. Also, I would like to give @Illwei a chance to defend themselves. Often, when you are under suspicion, it is your defense that either gives you away or clears you of sus-ness suspiciousness. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. -
And when it turned out that Pattern had murdered Testament to save Shallan's life? One of the best scenes in the book, in my opinion.
