  1. Your Order’s name: Stormhackers

    Your Order’s spren: Valorspren

Your ideals: #2 "I will do what is expected of me" #3 "I will prioritize others before myself"

Stormhacker oaths are themed toward valor, loyalty, and putting their duty and other people before themselves. (I can't really think of specific ideals for them right now)

    Your Surges: Transportation, Illumination

    Characteristics:

    - Stormhackers tend to set high expectations for themselves (especially when it comes to securing the wellbeing of the nation and its people). This is why they usually accept or take on tasks that will challenge them.

    - They are extremely loyal to their allies, even if it's someone they dislike. They tend to be straightforward and make sure the task is seen finished, even if it meant using unconventional means (but if they think it's going too far, they will back down when enough is enough)

    - Stormhackers generally prefer supervising rather than leading, but if someone more suited to do so wasn't around, they'd take up leadership until they could be relieved of the position.

    - They aren't very fighter-type, but they do a fair amount of fighting. Stormhackers are generally more suited to tasks related to politics and battle strategy--basically anything that isn't bloodshed on a battlefield.

    - They put others before themselves, seeing to it that they are safe and protected.

    Your Order's name: Pastkeepers

    Your Order's spren: Archivespren

    Ideals:

    • Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination
    • I will preserve what I have found
    • I will search for what we have lost
    • I will share my knowledge with others when it is needed
    • I will remember the present and keep it for the future

    Surges: Transportation, Illumination

Characteristics: Pastkeepers seek to preserve the knowledge of cultures, creatures, notable events, etc. They record their travels or discoveries through the use of journaling, incorporating it into songs or stories, paintings, or any way that it could be stored for later generations. Pastkeepers seek to remember both major and minor events, as they think that everything in life matters, even the smallest things. When seeking answers, or simply looking for something to discover, Pastkeepers prefer the first-hand experience. This order would attract all sorts of inquisitive people--whether it's a scholar or an adventurer.

I will find the secrets that others will not see.

I will explore the worlds others cannot discern.

Any Oaths beyond this have never been recorded, as every Radiant that has progressed to Oath 3 inevitably disappears, never to be seen again.

Surges: Gravitation, Abrasion. (surprised no one's done this combo yet. It's gnarly.

    So...basically a worldhopper order...I like it

(also the cytospren reminded me of Skyward lmao)

    Yep, sounds just about right

    • Guess 4: It's a TV or video game deal, but not for Mistborn ... maybe for Skyward?

I know - these are crazy / goofy guesses! It's fun to think up ideas of what the big announcement will be! :D

In the latest SoTS (2020)  he did say Skyward was owned by Universal Television, but with that aside it is mostly under the radar at the moment (most adaptation possibilities with the non-cosmere works are)...ofc this is just a speculation but damn it's so exciting to think about.

All things considered Skyward would translate pretty well into a film/tv show imo.

Also didn't he say it might be something fans won't really care/won't get too hyped up about? A new edition or leatherbound of one of his works or another board game, maybe...

Spensa (for those who do not): overzealous teen who bullies her friend into becoming a pilot and her flightleader into having a stupid name.

Syl: That one wholesome friend that everyone needs

That's a great point, I can't believe I hadn't thought about that... But I would guess that, given humanities chance at freedom, his parents would continue to allow him to fight with the DDF

Hopefully they will allow him to stay if ever.

  6. It's been 6 months since Skyward, and if I remember correctly Jorgen mentioned that his family will pull him out of the DDF after 6 months. I doubt that's something Brandon will just toss into the book for no apparent reason.

So...what do you think will happen to him?

Tbh I have a nagging feeling that his parents are already working on it in the background, so we might not see Jorgen with the rest of Skyward Flight for a while in the next book/s. Maybe this way he'll discover more about his cytonic abilities...or cytonics in general (I'm really curious about his family and life too).

(currently manifesting the 'Jorgen POV novella' energy)

Of course these are all just guesses so I'll most likely be wrong, but toying with theories is fun, nonetheless.

P.S.: I'm really hoping for a showdown scene between Jorgen and his parents about him being pulled out of the DDF. Seems like it will be fun to read.

  7. Brandon said that book 3 will mostly be Spensa on the solo road again, so that's why we're getting 3 novellas alongside the book to get a glimpse of what's going on with our other characters. He did say in a live stream that he's co-writing with another author and he let her choose the viewpoints. He also said that FM's POV will most likely be one of them.

    Here are my top guesses:

    FM: I already mentioned above.

Alanik (or someone from her planet's POV): One of the progress bars has the title of ReDawn so it makes sense. Also, we need more answers about Alanik and her people and I very much doubt Brandon will leave us hanging.

Cuna/Winzik/Brade: Tbh I really can't decide, but I feel like it would mostly be Cuna. I mean, we need some more insight about the Superiority now that Spin's off gallivanting in the Nowhere again.

     Three novellas, three different people:
FM for what's happening on Detritus and Alta.
     Alanik to give us answers on who and what her people are;
And Cuna, Winzik, or Brade for more information about the Superiority.

    How about you guys?

    **Cosmere.es Interview (April 22, 2021)

  8. I'm so excited for the novellas already! And they're being co-written with another author which makes it much more anticipating.

Also, I think one of them is going to be in FM's POV? It says so in this WoB excerpt:

    Brandon Sanderson
...And the first of the Skyward novellas that Janci wrote is just spectacular, I really like it. If you guys like the Skyward books, it's from FM's viewpoint. It kind of takes a character that I had done very little with and does a lot more with her...Cosmere.es Interview (April 22, 2021)

Tbh FM's one of my favorite flight members so I'm really excited about this. I really don't think this is final though--it's still in its early stages but here's to hoping!

  9. I LOVE this. It's really fun to see what stuff fans can come up with.

Like, every fanmade Mistborn trailer script I've come across is so good?? If Mistborn is going to be made into a movie the trailer script should reaaaaallly be made by the fans no joke.

    Also about the FE script:

    Spoiler

Maybe a short--but vague--explanation of allomancy would also be a good thing. And perhaps some more shots of Kel's plans in motion (Vin at balls, Sazed translating the logbook, Kel writing on the chalkboard, etc).

They're relevant to the plot, but when done right I think it could create a sense of mystery instead of spoilers.

That's all I have to say tbh, all thoughts aside, though, I really love this. Thanks for sharing! <3

    (Cue the orchestra)

  10. *muffled excited noises*

Just finished reading the prologue out loud and this was her reaction:

    Me: And that's the prologue!

Her: Wait...that was just the prologue??

    Me: Yeah

Her: That's pretty long, not gonna lie

    Me: 15 pages? Not really

Her: I'm just not used to it being that long

    Me: I guess so

She actually started Mistborn a couple of months ago but dropped it because she found it overwhelming. Considering that she's younger than the average reader, though, I think she actually did quite well (she got to the part of Vin's allomancy lessons, but she can't remember much of it, sadly). Maybe this time she'll actually get around to finishing it now that I'm here to explain and clarify stuff.

(I also told her there's no pressure on finishing quickly because, well, it's Mistborn)

I also asked her what she thinks of it and she said it seems pretty interesting so I guess that's a good start.

UPDATE: She finished it. She really enjoyed it (though she teared up at the ending lol). "Probably one of the best fantasy books I've read so far," she said.

Already hopping on to era 2!

  11. Obviously they don't go to grade school like we do. Which raises the question what kind of school they go to.

(Tbh they probably won't call it a school. It's a Librarian thing)

They probably have something for general education, but not as controlled as grade school in the Hushlands. Maybe Free Kingdomers get to choose a specific field of study at a younger age: take Bastille and Aydee for example.

I'm thinking 'schools' in their place are something much more engaging and exciting. Like a summer camp, though it will depend on the field of study you choose.
